ㅅ그 때에 分封王(분봉왕) ㅇ헤롯이 예수의 所聞(소문)을 듣고
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus,

그 臣下(신하)들에게 이르되 ㅈ이는 洗禮(세례) 요한이라 저가 죽은 者(자) 가운데서 살아 났으니 그러므로 이런 ㅊ權能(권능)이 그 속에서 運動(운동)하는도다 하더라
and he said to his attendants, "This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him."

前(전)에 ㅋ헤롯이 그 同生(동생) 빌립의 아내 헤로디아의 일로 요한을 잡아 結縛(결박)하여 ㅌ獄(옥)에 가두었으니
Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife,

이는 요한이 헤롯에게 말하되 當身(당신)이 ㅍ그 女子(여자)를 取(취)한 것이 옳지 않다 하였음이라
for John had been saying to him: "It is not lawful for you to have her."

5 |
헤롯이 요한을 죽이려 하되 民衆(민중)이 저를 ㅎ先知者(선지자)로 여기므로 ㅏ民衆(민중)을 두려워하더니
Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered him a prophet.

6 |
마침 헤롯의 ㅑ生日(생일)을 當(당)하여 헤로디아의 딸이 宴席(연석) 가운데서 춤을 추어 헤롯을 기쁘게 하니

On Herod's birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for them and pleased Herod so much

헤롯이 盟誓(맹세)로 그에게 무엇이든지 달라는대로 주겠다 許諾(허락)하거늘
that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked.

8 |
그가 제 어미의 시킴을 듣고 가로되 洗禮(세례) 요한의 머리를 소반에 담아 여기서 내게 주소서 하니
Prompted by her mother, she said, "Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist."

9 |
王(왕)이 근심하나 自己(자기)의 盟誓(맹세)한 것과 그 함께 1)앉은 사람들을 因(인)하여 주라 命(명)하고

The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted

사람을 보내어 요한을 獄(옥)에서 목 베어
and had John beheaded in the prison.

11 |
그 머리를 소반에 담아다가 그 女兒(여아)에게 주니 그가 제 어미에게 가져 가니라
His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother.

12 |
ㅓ요한의 弟子(제자)들이 와서 屍體(시체)를 가져다가 葬事(장사)하고 가서 예수께 告(고)하니라

John's disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.

13 |
● 예수께서 들으시고 ㅕ배를 타고 떠나사 따로 빈 들에 가시니 무리가 듣고 여러 고을로부터 걸어서 좇아간지라
When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns.

예수께서 나오사 ㅗ큰 무리를 보시고 불쌍히 여기사 그 中(중)에 있는 病人(병인)을 고쳐 주시니라

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

15 |
저녁이 되매 弟子(제자)들이 나아와 가로되 이곳은 빈 들이요 때도 이미 저물었으니 ㅛ무리를 보내어 마을에 들어가 먹을 것을 사먹게 하소서
As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food."

예수께서 가라사대 갈 것 없다 ㅜ너희가 먹을 것을 주라
Jesus replied, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."

17 |
弟子(제자)들이 가로되 여기 우리에게 있는 것은 떡 다섯 箇(개)와 물고기 두 마리 뿐이니이다
We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish, they answered.

18 |
가라사대 그것을 내게 가져오라 하시고
Bring them here to me, he said.
|
19 |
무리를 命(명)하여 잔디 위에 2)앉히시고 떡 다섯箇(개)와 물고기 두 마리를 가지사 ㅠ하늘을 우러러 으祝辭(축사)하시고 떡을 떼어 弟子(제자)들에게 주시매 弟子(제자)들이 무리에게 주니
And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

다 배불리 먹고 남은 조각을 열 두 바구니에 차게 거두었으며
They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

21 |
먹은 사람은 女子(여자)와 아이 外(외)에 五千(오천) 名(명)이나 되었더라
The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
|
22 |
● 이예수께서 卽時(즉시) ㅐ弟子(제자)들을 재촉하사 自己(자기)가 무리를 보내는 동안에 배를 타고 앞서 건너便(편)으로 가게 하시고
Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.

무리를 보내신 後(후)에 ㄱ祈禱(기도)하러 따로 山(산)에 올라가시다 ㄴ저물매 거기 혼자 계시더니
After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,

24 |
배가 이미 3)陸地(육지)에서 數里(수리)나 떠나서 바람이 거슬리므로 물결을 因(인)하여 苦難(고난)을 當(당)하더라
3) 어떤 사본에, 바다 가운데 있어
but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

밤 四更(사경)에 예수께서 바다 위로 걸어서 弟子(제자)들에게 오시니
During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
|
26 |
弟子(제자)들이 그 바다 위로 걸어 오심을 보고 ㄷ놀라 幽靈(유령)이라 하며 무서워하여 소리지르거늘

When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.

예수께서 卽時(즉시) 일러 가라사대 ㄹ安心(안심)하라 내니 두려워 말라
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

28 |
베드로가 對答(대답)하여 가로되 主(주)여 萬一(만일) 主(주)시어든 나를 命(명)하사 물 위로 오라 하소서 한대
Lord, if it's you, Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."

오라, 하시니 베드로가 배에서 내려 4)ㅁ물 위로 걸어서 예수께로 가되

Come, he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

바람을 보고 무서워 빠져 가는지라 소리질러 가로되 ㅂ主(주)여 나를 救援(구원)하소서 하니

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

예수께서 卽時(즉시) 손을 내밀어 저를 붙잡으시며 가라사대 ㅅ믿음이 적은 者(자)여 ㅇ왜 疑心(의심)하였느냐 하시고
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

배에 함께 오르매 바람이 그치는지라
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
|
33 |
ㅈ배에 있는 사람들이 예수께 ㅊ절하며 가로되 ㅋ眞實(진실)로 ㅌ하나님의 아들이로소이다 하더라
Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

● ㅍ저희가 건너가 ㅎ게네사렛 땅에 이르니
When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.

35 |
그 곳 사람들이 예수신 줄을 알고 그 近方(근방)에 두루 通知(통지)하여 모든 病(병)든 者(자)를 예수께 ㅏ데리고 와서

And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him

다만 예수의 ㅑ옷가에라도 손을 대게 하시기를 懇求(간구)하니 손을 대는 者(자)는 ㅓ다 나음을 얻으니라
and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.
