大臣(대신) 위에 두니
After these events, King Xerxes honored Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, elevating him and giving him a seat of honor higher than that of all the other nobles. After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him. |

大闕(대궐) 門(문)에 있는 王(왕)의 모든 臣僕(신복)이 다 王(왕)의 命(명)대로 하만에게 꿇어 절하되 ㅐ모르드개는
꿇지도 아니하고 절하지도 아니하니

All the royal officials at the king's gate knelt down and paid honor to Haman, for the king had commanded this concerning him. But Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor. And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence. |

ㄱ大闕(대궐) 門(문)에 있는 王(왕)의 臣僕(신복)이 모르드개에게 이르되 너는 어찌하여 ㄴ王(왕)의 命令(명령)을
拒逆(거역)하느냐 하고
Then the royal officials at the king's gate asked Mordecai, "Why do you disobey the king's command?" Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment? |

날마다 勸(권)하되 모르드개가 듣지 아니하고 自己(자기)는 유다人(인)임을 告(고)하였더니 저희가 모르드개의 일이 어찌되나 보고자 하여 하만에게 告(고)하였더라
Day after day they spoke to him but he refused to comply. Therefore they told Haman about it to see whether Mordecai's behavior would be tolerated, for he had told them he was a Jew. Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew. |

하만이 모르드개가 꿇지도 아니하고 절하지도 아니함을 보고 ㄷ甚(심)히 怒(노)하더니

When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged. And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath. |

저희가 모르드개의 民族(민족)을 하만에게 告(고)한 故(고)로 하만이 모르드개만 죽이는 것이 輕(경)하다 하고
아하수에로의 온 나라에 있는 유다人(인) 곧 모르드개의 民族(민족)을 다 滅(멸)하고자 하더라
Yet having learned who Mordecai's people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai's people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes. And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai. |

ㅁ아달月(월)을 얻은지라
In the twelfth year of King Xerxes, in the first month, the month of Nisan, they cast the pur (that is, the lot) in the presence of Haman to select a day and month. And the lot fell on the twelfth month, the month of Adar. In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar. |

하만이 아하수에로 王(왕)에게 아뢰되 한 民族(민족)이 王(왕)의 나라 各(각) 道(도) 百姓(백성) 中(중)에 흩어져 居(거)하는데 ㅂ그 法律(법률)이 萬民(만민)보다 달라서 王(왕)의 法律(법률)을 지키지 아니하오니 容納(용납)하는 것이 王(왕)에게 無益(무익)하나이다
Then Haman said to King Xerxes, "There is a certain people dispersed and scattered among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom whose customs are different from those of all other people and who do not obey the king's laws; it is not in the king's best interest to tolerate them. And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them. |

王(왕)이 옳게 여기시거든 詔書(조서)를 내려 저희를 殄滅(진멸)하소서 내가 銀(은) 一萬(일만) 달란트를 王(왕)의 일을 맡은 者(자)의 손에 붙여 王(왕)의 府庫(부고)에
드리리이다
If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will put ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury for the men who carry out this business." If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries. |

ㅅ王(왕)이 斑指(반지)를 손에서 빼어 ㅇ유다人(인)의 對敵(대적) 곧 ㅈ아각 사람 함므다다의 아들 하만에게 주며
So the king took his signet ring from his finger and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews. And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy. |

이르되 그 銀(은)을 네게 주고 그 百姓(백성)도 그리하노니 너는 所見(소견)에 좋을대로 行(행)하라 하더라
Keep the money, the king said to Haman, "and do with the people as you please." And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee. |

● ㅊ正月(정월) 十三日(십삼일)에 王(왕)의 書記官(서기관)이 召集(소집)되어 하만의 命(명)을 따라 ㅋ王(왕)의 大臣(대신)과 各(각) 道(도)
方伯(방백)과 各(각) 民族(민족)의 官員(관원)에게 ㅌ아하수에로 王(왕)의 이름으로 詔書(조서)를 쓰되 곧 ㅍ各(각) 道(도)의
文字(문자)와 各(각) 民族(민족)의 方言(방언)대로 쓰고 ㅎ王(왕)의 斑指(반지)로 印(인)치니라
Then on the thirteenth day of the first month the royal secretaries were summoned. They wrote out in the script of each province and in the language of each people all Haman's orders to the king's satraps, the governors of the various provinces and the nobles of the various peoples. These were written in the name of King Xerxes himself and sealed with his own ring. Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. |

이에 그 詔書(조서)를 ㅏ驛卒(역졸)에게 부쳐 王(왕)의 各(각) 道(도)에
보내니 十二月(십이월) 곧 아달月(월) 十三日(십삼일) ㅑ하루 동안에 모든 유다人(인)을 老少(노소)나 어린 아이나 婦女(부녀)를 無論(무론)하고 ㅓ죽이고 屠戮(도륙)하고 殄滅(진멸)하고 또 ㅕ그 財産(재산)을 奪取(탈취)하라 하였고
Dispatches were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces with the order to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews--young and old, women and little children--on a single day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. |

ㅗ이 命令(명령)을 各(각) 道(도)에 傳(전)하기 爲(위)하여 詔書(조서)의 抄本(초본)을 모든 民族(민족)에게 宣布(선포)하여 그 날을 爲(위)하여 準備(준비)하게
하라 하였더라

A copy of the text of the edict was to be issued as law in every province and made known to the people of every nationality so they would be ready for that day. The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day. |

驛卒(역졸)이 王(왕)의 命(명)을 받들어 急(급)히 나가매 그 詔書(조서)가 都城(도성) 수산에도 頒布(반포)되니 王(왕)은 하만과 함께 앉아 마시되 ㅛ수산城(성)은 어지럽더라

Spurred on by the king's command, the couriers went out, and the edict was issued in the citadel of Susa. The king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city of Susa was bewildered. The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed. |
