요나가 甚(심)히 싫어하고 ㄹ怒(노)하여
But Jonah was greatly displeased and became angry. But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry. |

여호와께 祈禱(기도)하여 가로되 여호와여 내가 故國(고국)에 있을 때에 이러하겠다고 말씀하지 아니하였나이까 ㅁ그러므로 내가 빨리 다시스로 逃亡(도망)하였사오니 ㅂ主(주)께서는 恩惠(은혜)로우시며 慈悲(자비)로우시며 怒(노)하기를 더디하시며 仁愛(인애)가 크시사 뜻을 돌이켜 災殃(재앙)을 내리지 아니하시는 하나님이신 줄을 내가 알았음이니이다
He prayed to the LORD, "O LORD, is this not what I said when I was still at home? That is why I was so quick to flee to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. |

ㅅ여호와여 願(원)컨대 이제 내 生命(생명)을 取(취)하소서 ㅇ사는 것보다 죽는 것이 내게 나음이니이다
Now, O LORD, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live." Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live. |

여호와께서 이르시되 ㅈ너의 성냄이 어찌 合當(합당)하냐 하시니라
But the LORD replied, "Have you any right to be angry?" Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry? |

요나가 城(성)에서 나가서 그 城(성) 東便(동편)에 앉되 거기서 ㅊ自己(자기)를 爲(위)하여 草幕(초막)을
짓고 그 그늘 아래 앉아서 城邑(성읍)이 어떻게 되는 것을 보려하니라

Jonah went out and sat down at a place east of the city. There he made himself a shelter, sat in its shade and waited to see what would happen to the city. So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city. |

하나님 여호와께서 박 넝쿨을 準備(준비)하사 요나 위에 가리우게 하셨으니 이는 그 머리를 爲(위)하여 그늘이 지게 하며 그 괴로움을 免(면)케하려 하심이었더라 요나가 박 넝쿨을 因(인)하여 甚(심)히
기뻐하였더니
Then the LORD God provided a vine and made it grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was very happy about the vine. And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd. |

하나님이 벌레를 準備(준비)하사 이튿날 새벽에 그 박 넝쿨을 씹게 하시매 곧 시드니라
But at dawn the next day God provided a worm, which chewed the vine so that it withered. But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered. |

해가 뜰 때에 하나님이 ㅋ뜨거운 東風(동풍)을 準備(준비)하셨고 ㅌ해는 요나의 머리에 쬐매 요나가 ㅍ昏困(혼곤)하여 스스로 죽기를 求(구)하여 가로되 사는 것보다 죽는 것이 내게 나으니이다
When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah's head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, "It would be better for me to die than to live." And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live. |

하나님이 요나에게 이르시되 ㅎ네가 이 박 넝쿨로 因(인)하여 성냄이 어찌 合當(합당)하냐 그가 對答(대답)하되 내가 성내어 죽기까지 할찌라도 合當(합당)하니이다
But God said to Jonah, "Do you have a right to be angry about the vine?" "I do," he said. "I am angry enough to die." And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. |

여호와께서 가라사대 네가 受苦(수고)도 아니하였고 培養(배양)도 아니하였고 하룻밤에 났다가 하룻밤에 亡(망)한 이 박 넝쿨을 네가 아꼈거든
But the LORD said, "You have been concerned about this vine, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: |

하물며 이 큰 城邑(성읍) ㅏ니느웨에는 左右(좌우)를 分辨(분변)치 못하는 者(자)가 十(십) 二萬(이만) 餘名(여명)이요 ㅑ六畜(육축)도 많이
있나니 내가 아끼는 것이 어찌 合當(합당)치 아니하냐
But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?" And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? |
