Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. |

그러므로 ㄴ監督(감독)은 責望(책망)할 것이 없으며 ㄷ한 아내의 男便(남편)이 되며 ㄹ節制(절제)하며 謹愼(근신)하며 雅淡(아담)하며 ㅁ나그네를 待接(대접)하며 ㅂ가르치기를
잘하며
Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; |

술을 즐기지 아니하며 毆打(구타)하지 아니하며 ㅅ오직 寬容(관용)하며 다투지 아니하며 ㅇ돈을 사랑치 아니하며
not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; |

自己(자기) 집을 잘 다스려 ㅈ子女(자녀)들로 모든 端正(단정)함으로 服從(복종)케 하는 者(자)라야 할찌며

He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; |

사람이 自己(자기) 집을 다스릴 줄 알지 못하면 어찌 하나님의 敎會(교회)를 돌아보리요
(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? ) |

새로 入敎(입교)한 者(자)도 말지니 ㅊ驕慢(교만)하여져서 魔鬼(마귀)를 定罪(정죄)하는 그 定罪(정죄)에 빠질까 함이요
He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. |

또한 ㅋ外人(외인)에게서도 善(선)한 證據(증거)를 얻은 者(자)라야 할지니 誹謗(비방)과 ㅌ魔鬼(마귀)의 올무에 빠질까
念慮(염려)하라
He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. |

이와 같이 ㅍ執事(집사)들도 端正(단정)하고 一口二言(일구이언)을 하지 아니하고 ㅎ술에 인박이지 아니하고 ㅏ더러운 利(이)를
貪(탐)하지 아니하고
Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; |

ㅑ깨끗한 良心(양심)에 ㅓ믿음의 秘密(비밀)을 가진
者(자)라야 할지니
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. |

ㅕ이에 이 사람들을 먼저 試驗(시험)하여 보고 그 後(후)에 責望(책망)할 것이 없으면 執事(집사)의 職分(직분)을 하게 할 것이요

They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. |

ㅗ女子(여자)들도 이와 같이 端正(단정)하고 讒訴(참소)하지 말며 節制(절제)하며 ㅛ모든 일에 忠誠(충성)된 者(자)라야
할찌니라
In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. |

執事(집사)들은 ㅜ한 아내의 男便(남편)이 되어 子女(자녀)와 自己(자기) 집을 잘 다스리는 者(자)일지니
A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. |

ㅠ執事(집사)의 職分(직분)을 잘한 者(자)들은 아름다운 地位(지위)와 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음에 큰 膽力(담력)을 얻느니라

Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. |

Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: |

萬一(만일) 내가 遲滯(지체)하면 너로 으하나님의
집에서 어떻게 行(행)하여야 할 것을 알게 하려 함이니 이 집은 살아계신 하나님의 敎會(교회)요 眞理(진리)의 기둥과 터이니라
if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. |

● 크도다 敬虔(경건)의 秘密(비밀)이여, 그렇지 않다 하는 이 없도다 이그는 肉身(육신)으로 나타난 바 되시고 靈(영)으로 義(의)롭다 하심을 입으시고
ㅐ天使(천사)들에게 보이시고 ㄱ萬國(만국)에서 傳播(전파)되시고 ㄴ世上(세상)에서 믿은 바 되시고 ㄷ榮光(영광)가운데서 올리우셨음이니라
Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. |
