ㄱ士師(사사)들의 治理(치리)하던 때에 그 땅에 ㄴ凶年(흉년)이 드니라 ㄷ유다 베들레헴에 한 사람이 그 아내와 두 아들을 데리고 모압 地方(지방)에 가서 寓居(우거)하였는데
In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab. Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. |

And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. |

Now Elimelech, Naomi's husband, died, and she was left with her two sons. And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. |

그들은 모압 女子(여자) 中(중)에서 아내를 取(취)하였는데 하나의 이름은 오르바요 하나의 이름은 룻이더라 거기 居(거)한지 十年(십년) 즈음에
They married Moabite women, one named Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years, And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. |

말론과 기룐 두 사람이 다 죽고 그 女人(여인)은 두 아들과 男便(남편)의 뒤에 남았더라
both Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband. And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. |

● 그가 모압 地方(지방)에 있어서 ㅁ여호와께서 自己(자기) 百姓(백성)을 眷顧(권고)하사 그들에게 ㅂ糧食(양식)을 주셨다 함을 들었으므로 이에 두 子婦(자부)와 함께 일어나 모압 地方(지방)에서 돌아오려 하여
When she heard in Moab that the LORD had come to the aid of his people by providing food for them, Naomi and her daughters-in-law prepared to return home from there. Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. |

있던 곳을 떠나고 두 子婦(자부)도 그와 함께 하여 유다 땅으로 돌아오려고 길을 行(행)하다가
With her two daughters-in-law she left the place where she had been living and set out on the road that would take them back to the land of Judah. Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah. |

나오미가 두 子婦(자부)에게 이르되 너희는 各各(각각) 어미의 집으로 돌아가라 ㅅ너희가 죽은 者(자)와 나를 善待(선대)한 것같이 ㅇ여호와께서 너희를 善待(선대)하시기를 願(원)하며
Then Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, "Go back, each of you, to your mother's home. May the LORD show kindness to you, as you have shown to your dead and to me. And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me. |

여호와께서 너희로 各各(각각) 男便(남편)의 집에서 ㅈ平安(평안)함을 얻게 하시기를 願(원)하노라 하고 그들에게 입맞추매 그들이 소리를 높여 울며

May the LORD grant that each of you will find rest in the home of another husband." Then she kissed them and they wept aloud The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept. |

나오미에게 이르되 아니니이다 우리는 어머니와 함께 어머니의 百姓(백성)에게로 돌아가겠나이다
and said to her, "We will go back with you to your people." And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people. |
11 |
나오미가 가로되 내 딸들아 돌아가라 너희가 어찌 나와 함께 가려느냐 나의 胎中(태중)에 ㅊ너희 男便(남편)될 아들들이 오히려 있느냐
But Naomi said, "Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands? And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? |

내 딸들아 돌이켜 너희 길로 가라 나는 늙었으니 男便(남편)을 두지 못할찌라 假令(가령) 내가 所望(소망)이 있다고 말한다든지 오늘 밤에 男便(남편)을 두어서 아들들을 生産(생산)한다 하자
Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me--even if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons-- Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons; |

너희가 어찌 그것을 因(인)하여 그들의 자라기를 기다리겠느냐 어찌 그것을 因(인)하여 男便(남편) 두기를 멈추겠느냐 내 딸들아 그렇지 아니하니라 ㅋ여호와의 손이 나를 치셨으므로 나는 너희로 因(인)하여 더욱 마음이 아프도다
would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the LORD'S hand has gone out against me!" Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me. |

그들이 소리를 높여 다시 울더니 오르바는 그 媤母(시모)에게 입맞추되 룻은 그를 붙좇았더라
At this they wept again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth clung to her. And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. |

● 나오미가 또 가로되 보라 네 동서는 그 百姓(백성)과 ㅌ그 神(신)에게로 돌아가나니 너도 동서를 따라 돌아가라
Look, said Naomi, "your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her." And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. |

룻이 가로되 나로 어머니를 떠나며 어머니를 따르지 말고 돌아가라 强勸(강권)하지 마옵소서 어머니께서 가시는 곳에 나도 가고 어머니께서 留宿(유숙)하시는 곳에서 나도 留宿(유숙)하겠나이다 ㅍ어머니의 百姓(백성)이 나의 百姓(백성)이 되고 어머니의 하나님이 나의 하나님이 되시리니

어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 葬事(장사)될 것이라 萬一(만일) 내가 죽는 일 外(외)에 어머니와 떠나면 ㅎ여호와께서 내게 罰(벌)을 내리시고 더 내리시기를
願(원)하나이다
Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me." Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. |

ㅏ나오미가 룻의 自己(자기)와 함께 가기로 굳게 決心(결심)함을 보고 그에게 말하기를 그치니라

When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her. |

● 이에 그 두 사람이 行(행)하여 베들레헴까지 이르니라 베들레헴에 이를 때에 ㅑ온 城邑(성읍)이 그들을 因(인)하여 떠들며 이르기를 이가 나오미냐 하는지라

So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred because of them, and the women exclaimed, "Can this be Naomi?" So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? |

ㅕ내가 豊足(풍족)하게 나갔더니 여호와께서 나로 비어 돌아오게 하셨느니라 여호와께서 나를 懲罰(징벌)하셨고 全能者(전능자)가 나를 괴롭게 하셨거늘 너희가 어찌 나를 나오미라

I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The LORD has afflicted me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me." I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? |

나오미가 모압 地方(지방)에서 그 子婦(자부) 모압 女人(여인) 룻과 함께 돌아왔는데 그들이 ㅗ보리 秋收(추수) 始作(시작)할 때에 베들레헴에 이르렀더라
So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning. So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest. |
