The company of the prophets said to Elisha, "Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. |

우리가 요단으로 가서 거기서 各各(각각) 한 材木(재목)을 取(취)하여 그곳에 우리의 居(거)할 處所(처소)를 세우사이다 엘리사가 가로되 가라
Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to live." And he said, "Go." Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. |

그 하나가 가로되 請(청)컨대 當身(당신)도 종들과 함께 하소서 엘리사가 가로되 내가 가리라 하고
Then one of them said, "Won't you please come with your servants?" "I will," Elisha replied. And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. |

드디어 저희와 함께 가니라 무리가 요단에 이르러 나무를 베더니
And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. |

한 사람이 나무를 벨 때에 도끼가 자루에서 빠져 물에 떨어진지라 이에 외쳐 가로되 아아 내 主(주)여 이는 빌어온 것이니이다
As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. "Oh, my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!" But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. |

하나님의 사람이 가로되 어디 빠졌느냐 하매 그곳을 보이는지라 ㅠ엘리사가 나무가지를 베어 물에 던져서 도끼로 떠오르게 하고

The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. |

가로되 너는 取(취)하라 그 사람이 손을 내밀어 取(취)하니라
Lift it out, he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it. Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it. |

● 때에 아람 王(왕)이 이스라엘로 더불어 싸우며 그 臣僕(신복)들과 議論(의논)하여 이르기를 우리가 아무데 아무데 陣(진)을 치리라 하였더니
Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, "I will set up my camp in such and such a place." Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp. |

하나님의 사람이 이스라엘 王(왕)에게 奇別(기별)하여 가로되 王(왕)은 삼가 아무 곳으로 지나가지 마소서 아람 사람이 그곳으로 나오나이다
The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: "Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there." And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. |

이스라엘 王(왕)이 하나님의 사람의 自己(자기)에게 告(고)하여 警戒(경계)한 곳으로 사람을 보내어 防備(방비)하기가 한 두 番(번)이 아닌지라
So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places. And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. |

이러므로 아람 王(왕)의 마음이 煩惱(번뇌)하여 그 臣僕(신복)들을 불러 이르되 우리 中(중)에 누가 이스라엘 王(왕)의 內應(내응)이 된 것을 내게 告(고)하지 아니하느냐
This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, "Will you not tell me which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?" Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel? |

그 臣僕(신복) 中(중)에 하나가 가로되 우리 主(주) 王(왕)이여 아니로소이다 오직 이스라엘 先知者(선지자) 엘리사가 王(왕)이 寢室(침실)에서 하신 말씀이라도 이스라엘 王(왕)에게 告(고)하나이다
None of us, my lord the king, said one of his officers, "but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom." And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. |

王(왕)이 가로되 너희는 가서 엘리사가 어디 있나 보라 내가 보내어 잡으리라 或(혹)이 王(왕)에게 告(고)하여 가로되 엘리사가 으도단에 있나이다

Go, find out where he is, the king ordered, "so I can send men and capture him." The report came back: "He is in Dothan." And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. |

● 王(왕)이 이에 말과 兵車(병거)와 많은 軍士(군사)를 보내매 저희가 밤에 가서 그 城(성)을 에워쌌더라
Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city. Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. |

하나님의 사람의 이隧從(수종)드는 者(자)가 일찌기 일어나서 나가보니 軍士(군사)와 말과 兵車(병거)가 城(성)을 에워쌌는지라 그 使喚(사환)이 엘리사에게 告(고)하되 아아, 내 主(주)여 우리가 어찌하리이까

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? |

對答(대답)하되 두려워하지 말라 ㅐ우리와 함께한 者(자)가 저와 함께한 者(자)보다 많으니라 하고
Don't be afraid, the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. |

祈禱(기도)하여 가로되 여호와여 願(원)컨대 ㄱ저의 눈을 열어서 보게 하옵소서 하니 여호와께서 그 使喚(사환)의 눈을 여시매 저가 보니 ㄴ불말과 불兵車(병거)가 山(산)에 가득하여 엘리사를 둘렀더라
And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. |

아람 사람이 엘리사에게 내려오매 엘리사가 여호와께 祈禱(기도)하여 가로되 願(원)컨대 저 무리의 눈을 어둡게 하옵소서 하매 ㄷ엘리사의 말대로 그 눈을 어둡게 하신지라

As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, "Strike these people with blindness." So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. |

엘리사가 저희에게 이르되 이는 그 길이 아니요 이는 그 城(성)도 아니니 나를 따라 오라 내가 너희를 引導(인도)하여 너희의 찾는 사람에게로 나아가리라 하고 저희를 引導(인도)하여 사마리아에 이르니라
Elisha told them, "This is not the road and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for." And he led them to Samaria. And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria. |

● 사마리아에 들어갈 때에 엘리사가 가로되 여호와여 이 무리의 눈을 열어서 보게 하옵소서 하니 여호와께서 저희의 눈을 여시매 저희가 보니 自己(자기)가 사마리아 가운데 있더라
After they entered the city, Elisha said, "LORD, open the eyes of these men so they can see." Then the LORD opened their eyes and they looked, and there they were, inside Samaria. And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria. |

이스라엘 王(왕)이 저희를 보고 엘리사에게 이르되 ㄹ내 아버지여 내가 치리이까 내가 치리이까
When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, "Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill them?" And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them? |

對答(대답)하되 치지 마소서 ㅁ칼과 활로 사로잡은 者(자)인들 어찌 치리이까 ㅂ떡과 물을 그 앞에 두어 먹고 마시게 하고 그 主人(주인)에게로 돌려 보내소서
Do not kill them, he answered. "Would you kill men you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master." And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master. |

王(왕)이 爲(위)하여 植物(식물)을 많이 베풀고 저희가 먹고 마시매 놓아보내니 저희가 그 主人(주인)에게로 돌아가니라 이로부터 ㅅ아람 軍士(군사)의
部隊(부대)가 다시는 이스라엘 땅에 들어오지 못하니라
So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel's territory. And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel. |

● 이 後(후)에 아람 王(왕) ㅇ벤하닷이 그 온 軍隊(군대)를 모아 올라와서 사마리아를 에워싸니

Some time later, Ben-Hadad king of Aram mobilized his entire army and marched up and laid siege to Samaria. And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. |

아람 사람이 사마리아를 에워싸므로 城中(성중)이 크게 주려서 나귀 머리 하나에 銀(은) 八十(팔십) 세겔이요 합분태 四分(사분) 一(일) 갑에 銀(은) 다섯 세겔이라
There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey's head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter of a cab of seed pods for five shekels. And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver. |

이스라엘 王(왕)이 城(성) 위로 通過(통과)할 때에 한 女人(여인)이 외쳐 가로되 나의 主(주) 王(왕)이여 도우소서
As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, "Help me, my lord the king!" And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. |

王(왕)이 가로되 여호와께서 너를 돕지 아니하시면 내가 무엇으로 너를 도우랴 打作(타작) 마당으로 말미암아 하겠느냐 葡萄酒(포도주) 틀로 말미암아 하겠느냐
The king replied, "If the LORD does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?" And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? |

또 가로되 무슨 일이냐 女人(여인)이 對答(대답)하되 이 女人(여인)이 내게 이르기를 네 아들을 내라 우리가 오늘날 먹고 來日(내일)은 내 아들을 먹자 하매
Then he asked her, "What's the matter?" She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.' And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. |

ㅈ우리가 드디어 내 아들을 삶아 먹었더니 이튿날에 내가 이르되 네 아들을 내라 우리가 먹으리라 하나 저가 그 아들을 숨겼나이다
So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, 'Give up your son so we may eat him,' but she had hidden him." So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. |

王(왕)이 그 女人(여인)의 말을 듣고 ㅊ自己(자기) 옷을 찢으니라 저가 城(성) 위로 지나갈 때에 百姓(백성)이 본즉 그 속살에 굵은 베를 입었더라

When the king heard the woman's words, he tore his robes. As he went along the wall, the people looked, and there, underneath, he had sackcloth on his body. And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh. |

王(왕)이 가로되 사밧의 아들 엘리사의 머리가 오늘날 그 몸에 붙어 있으면 ㅋ하나님이 내게 罰(벌) 위에 罰(벌)을 내리실지로다 하니라
He said, "May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today!" Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day. |

그때에 엘리사가 그 집에 앉았고 ㅌ長老(장로)들이 저와 함께 앉았는데 王(왕)이 自己(자기) 處所(처소)에서 사람을 보내었더니 그 使者(사자)가
이르기 前(전)에 엘리사가 長老(장로)들에게 이르되 너희는 이 ㅍ殺人(살인)한 者(자)의 子息(자식)이 내 머리를 取(취)하려고 사람을 보내는 것을 보느냐 너희는 보다가 使者(사자)가
오거든 門(문)을 닫고 門(문)안에 들이지말라 그 主人(주인)의 발소리가 그 뒤에서 나지아니하느냐 하고
Now Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. The king sent a messenger ahead, but before he arrived, Elisha said to the elders, "Don't you see how this murderer is sending someone to cut off my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold it shut against him. Is not the sound of his master's footsteps behind him?" But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him? |

무리와 말씀할 때에 그 使者(사자)가 이르니라 王(왕)이 가로되 이 災殃(재앙)이 여호와께로부터 나왔으니 ㅎ어찌 더 여호와를 기다리리요

While he was still talking to them, the messenger came down to him. And the king said, "This disaster is from the LORD. Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?" And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; what should I wait for the LORD any longer? |
