Now Samuel died, and all Israel assembled and mourned for him; and they buried him at his home in Ramah. Then David moved down into the Desert of Maon. And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran. |

● ㅈ마온에 한 사람이 있는데 그 業(업)이 ㅊ갈멜에 있고 甚(심)히 富(부)하여 羊(양)이 三千(삼천)이요 염소가
一千(일천)이므로 그가 갈멜에서 그 ㅋ羊(양)털을 깎고 있었으니
A certain man in Maon, who had property there at Carmel, was very wealthy. He had a thousand goats and three thousand sheep, which he was shearing in Carmel. And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel. |

Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb. |

다윗이 曠野(광야)에 있어서 나발이 自己(자기) 羊(양)털을 깎는다 함을 들은지라
While David was in the desert, he heard that Nabal was shearing sheep. And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal did shear his sheep. |

다윗이 이에 열 少年(소년)을 보내며 그 少年(소년)들에게 이르되 너희는 갈멜로 올라가 나발에게 이르러 내 이름으로 그에게 問安(문안)하고
So he sent ten young men and said to them, "Go up to Nabal at Carmel and greet him in my name. And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name: |

이같이 그 富(부)하게 사는 者(자)에게 이르기를 ㅍ너는 平康(평강)하라, 네 집도 平康(평강)하라, 네 所有(소유)의 모든 것도 平康(평강)하라
Say to him: 'Long life to you! Good health to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours! And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast. |

네게 양털 깎는 者(자)들이 있다 함을 이제 내가 들었노라 네 牧者(목자)들이 우리와 함께 있었으나 우리가 그들을 傷(상)치 아니하였고 ㅎ그들이 갈멜에 있는 동안에 그들의 것을 하나도
잃지 아니하였나니
'Now I hear that it is sheep-shearing time. When your shepherds were with us, we did not mistreat them, and the whole time they were at Carmel nothing of theirs was missing. And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel. |

네 少年(소년)들에게 물으면 그들이 네게 告(고)하리라 그런즉 내 少年(소년)들로 네게 恩惠(은혜)를 얻게 하라 우리가 ㅏ좋은 날에 왔은즉 네 손에 있는 대로 네 종들과 네 아들
다윗에게 주기를 願(원)하노라 하더라 하라
Ask your own servants and they will tell you. Therefore be favorable toward my young men, since we come at a festive time. Please give your servants and your son David whatever you can find for them.'" Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David. |

● 다윗의 少年(소년)들이 가서 다윗의 이름으로 이 모든 말을 나발에게 告(고)하기를 마치매
When David's men arrived, they gave Nabal this message in David's name. Then they waited. And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased. |

나발이 다윗의 使喚(사환)들에게 對答(대답)하여 가로되 ㅑ다윗은 누구며 이새의 아들은 누구뇨 ㅓ近日(근일)에 各其(각기) 主人(주인)에게서 抑止(억지)로 떠나는 종이 많도다
Nabal answered David's servants, "Who is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master. |

내가 어찌 ㅕ내 떡과 물과 내 羊(양)털 깎는 者(자)를 爲(위)하여 잡은 고기를 가져 ㅗ어디로서인지 알지도 못하는 者(자)들에게 주겠느냐 한지라
Why should I take my bread and water, and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?" Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be? |

이에 다윗의 少年(소년)들이 돌이켜 自己(자기) 길로 行(행)하여 돌아와서 이 모든 말로 그에게 告(고)하매
David's men turned around and went back. When they arrived, they reported every word. So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings. |

다윗이 自己(자기) 사람들에게 이르되 너희는 各其(각기) 칼을 차라 各其(각기) 칼을 차매 다윗도 自己(자기) 칼을 차고 ㅛ四百名(사백명) 假量(가량)은 데리고 올라가고
二百名(이백명)은 ㅜ所有物(소유물) 곁에 있게 하니라
David said to his men, "Put on your swords!" So they put on their swords, and David put on his. About four hundred men went up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies. And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff. |

● 少年(소년) 中(중) 하나가 나발의 아내 아비가일에게 告(고)하여 가로되 다윗이 우리 主人(주인)에게 問安(문안)하러 曠野(광야)에서 使者(사자)들을
보내었거늘 主人(주인)이 그들을 ㅠ羞辱(수욕)하였나이다
One of the servants told Nabal's wife Abigail: "David sent messengers from the desert to give our master his greetings, but he hurled insults at them. But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them. |

우리가 들에 있어 그들과 相從(상종)할 동안에 그 사람들이 우리를 매우 善待(선대)하였으므로 으우리가 傷(상)하거나 잃은 것이 없었으니
Yet these men were very good to us. They did not mistreat us, and the whole time we were out in the fields near them nothing was missing. But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields: |

우리가 羊(양)을 지키는 동안에 이그들이 우리와 함께 있어 밤낮 우리에게 담이 되었음이라

Night and day they were a wall around us all the time we were herding our sheep near them. They were a wall unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep. |

그런즉 이제 當身(당신)은 어떻게 할 것을 알아 생각하실지니 이는 다윗이 우리 主人(주인)과 主人(주인)의 온 집을 ㅐ害(해)하기로 決定(결정)하였음이니이다 主人(주인)은
ㄱ不良(불량)한 사람이라 더불어 말할 수 없나이다
Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a wicked man that no one can talk to him." Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him. |

● 아비가일이 急(급)히 떡 二百(이백) 덩이와 葡萄酒(포도주) 두 가죽 負袋(부대)와 잡아 準備(준비)한 羊(양) 다섯과 볶은 穀食(곡식) 다섯 세아와 乾葡萄(건포도) 百(백)송이와 無花果(무화과)뭉치
二百(이백)을 取(취)하여 나귀들에게 싣고
Abigail lost no time. She took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five dressed sheep, five seahs of roasted grain, a hundred cakes of raisins and two hundred cakes of pressed figs, and loaded them on donkeys. Then Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched corn, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on asses. |

Then she told her servants, "Go on ahead; I'll follow you." But she did not tell her husband Nabal. And she said unto her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal. |

아비가일이 나귀를 타고 山(산) 幽僻(유벽)한 곳으로 좇아 내려가더니 다윗과 그의 사람들이 自己(자기)에게로 마주 내려오는 것을 만나니라
As she came riding her donkey into a mountain ravine, there were David and his men descending toward her, and she met them. And it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came down by the covert of the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against her; and she met them. |
21 |
다윗이 이미 말하기를 내가 이 者(자)의 所有物(소유물)을 曠野(광야)에서 지켜 그 모든 것을 하나도 ㄴ損失(손실)이 없게 한 것이 眞實(진실)로 虛事(허사)라 ㄷ그가 惡(악)으로 나의 善(선)을 갚는도다
David had just said, "It's been useless--all my watching over this fellow's property in the desert so that nothing of his was missing. He has paid me back evil for good. Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good. |

내가 그에게 屬(속)한 모든 것 中(중) 한 男子(남자)라도 아침까지 남겨두면 ㄹ하나님은 1)다윗에게 罰(벌)을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 願(원)하노라 하였더라

May God deal with David, be it ever so severely, if by morning I leave alive one male of all who belong to him!" So and more also do God unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall. |

● 아비가일이 다윗을 보고 急(급)히 ㅁ나귀에서 내려 ㅂ다윗의 앞에 엎드려 그 얼굴을 땅에 대니라
When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off her donkey and bowed down before David with her face to the ground. And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, |

그가 다윗의 발에 엎드려 가로되 ㅅ내 主(주)여 請(청)컨대 이 罪惡(죄악)을 나 곧 내게로 돌리시고 女(여)종으로 主(주)의 귀에 말하게 하시고 이 女(여)종의 말을 들으소서

She fell at his feet and said: "My lord, let the blame be on me alone. Please let your servant speak to you; hear what your servant has to say. 願(원)하옵나니 내 主(주)는 이 不良(불량)한 사람 나발을 介意(개의)치 마옵소서 그 이름이 그에게 適當(적당)하니 그 이름이 나발이라 그는 미련한 者(자)니이다
女(여)종은 내 主(주)의 보내신 少年(소년)들을 보지 못하였나이다
May my lord pay no attention to that wicked man Nabal. He is just like his name--his name is Fool, and folly goes with him. But as for me, your servant, I did not see the men my master sent. Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send. |

내 主(주)여 ㅇ여호와께서 사시고 내 主(주)도 살아계시거니와 내 主(주)의 손으로 피를 흘려 ㅈ親(친)히 報酬(보수)하시는
일을 ㅊ여호와께서 막으셨으니 ㅋ내 主(주)의 怨讐(원수)들과 내 主(주)를 害(해)하려 하는 者(자)들은 나발과 같이 되기를 願(원)하나이다
Now since the LORD has kept you, my master, from bloodshed and from avenging yourself with your own hands, as surely as the LORD lives and as you live, may your enemies and all who intend to harm my master be like Nabal. Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the LORD hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal. |
27 |
ㅌ女(여)종이 내 主(주)에게 가져온 이 禮物(예물)로 내 主(주)를 좇는 이 少年(소년)들에게 주게 하시고
And let this gift, which your servant has brought to my master, be given to the men who follow you. And now this blessing which thine handmaid hath brought unto my lord, let it even be given unto the young men that follow my lord. |
28 |
主(주)의 女(여)종의 허물을 赦(사)하여 주옵소서 여호와께서 반드시 ㅍ내 主(주)를 爲(위)하여 든든한 집을 세우시리니 이는 내 主(주)께서
ㅎ여호와의 싸움을 싸우심이요 내 主(주)의 一生(일생)에 내 主(주)에게서 惡(악)한 일을 찾을 수 없음이니이다
Please forgive your servant's offense, for the LORD will certainly make a lasting dynasty for my master, because he fights the LORD'S battles. Let no wrongdoing be found in you as long as you live. I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the LORD, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days. |

사람이 일어나서 내 主(주)를 쫓아 내 主(주)의 生命(생명)을 찾을찌라도 내 主(주)의 生命(생명)은 내 主(주)의 하나님 여호와와 함께 生命(생명)싸개 속에 싸였을 것이요 ㅏ내
主(주)의 怨讐(원수)들의 生命(생명)은 물매로 던지듯 여호와께서 그것을 던지시리이다

Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life, the life of my master will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the LORD your God. But the lives of your enemies he will hurl away as from the pocket of a sling. Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling. |

여호와께서 내 主(주)에 對(대)하여 하신 말씀대로 모든 善(선)을 내 主(주)에게 行(행)하사 내 主(주)를 이스라엘의 指導者(지도자)로 세우신 때에
When the LORD has done for my master every good thing he promised concerning him and has appointed him leader over Israel, And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel; |

내 主(주)께서 無罪(무죄)한 피를 흘리셨다든지 내 主(주)께서 親(친)히 報酬(보수)하셨다든지 함을 因(인)하여 슬퍼하실 것도 없고 내 主(주)의 마음에 걸리는 것도 없으시리니 다만 여호와께서 내
主(주)를 厚待(후대)하신 때에 願(원)컨대 내 主(주)의 女(여)종을 생각하소서
my master will not have on his conscience the staggering burden of needless bloodshed or of having avenged himself. And when the LORD has brought my master success, remember your servant." That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid. |

● 다윗이 아비가일에게 이르되 오늘날 너를 보내어 나를 迎接(영접)케 하신 ㅑ이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 讚頌(찬송)할지로다
David said to Abigail, "Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, who has sent you today to meet me. And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me: |

또 네 智慧(지혜)를 稱讚(칭찬)할찌며 또 네게 福(복)이 있을지로다 오늘날 내가 피를 흘릴 것과 親(친)히 報酬(보수)하는
것을 네가 막았느니라
May you be blessed for your good judgment and for keeping me from bloodshed this day and from avenging myself with my own hands. And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand. |

나를 막아 너를 害(해)하지 않게 하신 ㅓ이스라엘의 하나님 여호와의 사심으로 盟誓(맹세)하노니 네가 急(급)히 와서 나를 迎接(영접)지 아니하였더면 밝는 아침에는 果然(과연)
나발에게 한 男子(남자)도 남겨두지 아니하였으리라

大醉(대취)하여 ㅛ마음에 기뻐하므로 아비가일이 ㅜ밝는 아침까지는 多少間(다소간) 말하지 아니하다가
When Abigail went to Nabal, he was in the house holding a banquet like that of a king. He was in high spirits and very drunk. So she told him nothing until daybreak. And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light. |

아침에 나발이 葡萄酒(포도주)가 깬 後(후)에 그 아내가 그에게 이 일을 告(고)하매 그가 2)落膽(낙담)하여
몸이 돌과 같이 되었더니
2) 히, 마음이 죽어
Then in the morning, when Nabal was sober, his wife told him all these things, and his heart failed him and he became like a stone. But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. |

한 열흘 後(후)에 ㅠ여호와께서 나발을 치시매 그가 죽으니라

About ten days later, the LORD struck Nabal and he died. And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died. |

● 다윗이 나발의 죽었다 함을 듣고 가로되 나발에게 當(당)한 으나의 辱(욕)을 伸雪(신설)하사 이종으로 惡(악)한 일을 하지 않게 하신 여호와를 讚頌(찬송)할지로다 여호와께서 ㅐ나발의
惡行(악행)을 그 머리에 돌리셨도다 하니라 다윗이 아비가일로 自己(자기) 아내를 삼으려고 보내어 그에게 말하게 하매
When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, "Praise be to the LORD, who has upheld my cause against Nabal for treating me with contempt. He has kept his servant from doing wrong and has brought Nabal's wrongdoing down on his own head." Then David sent word to Abigail, asking her to become his wife. And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife. |

다윗의 使喚(사환)들이 갈멜에 가서 아비가일에게 이르러 그에게 일러 가로되 다윗이 當身(당신)을 아내로 삼고자 하여 우리를 當身(당신)께 보내더이다
His servants went to Carmel and said to Abigail, "David has sent us to you to take you to become his wife." And when the servants of David were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake unto her, saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife. |

그가 일어나 몸을 굽혀 ㄱ얼굴을 땅에 대고 가로되 내 主(주)의 女(여)종은 내 主(주)의 使喚(사환)들의
발 씻길 종이니이다 하고

急(급)히 일어나서 나귀를 타고 따르는 處女(처녀) 다섯과 함께 다윗의 使者(사자)들을 따라가서 다윗의 아내가 되니라
Abigail quickly got on a donkey and, attended by her five maids, went with David's messengers and became his wife. And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode upon an ass, with five damsels of hers that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife. |

● 다윗이 또 ㄴ이스르엘 아히노암을 取(취)하였더니 ㄷ그들 두 사람이 自己(자기) 아내가 되니라
David had also married Ahinoam of Jezreel, and they both were his wives. David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they were also both of them his wives. |

사울이 그 딸 다윗의 아내 미갈을 갈림에 사는 라이스의 아들 3)발디에게 주었더라

But Saul had given his daughter Michal, David's wife, to Paltiel son of Laish, who was from Gallim. But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim. |
