Now the famine was still severe in the land. And the famine was sore in the land. |

그들이 애굽에서 가져온 穀食(곡식)을 다 먹으매 그 아비가 그들에게 이르되 다시 가서 우리를 爲(위)하여 糧食(양식)을 조금 사라
So when they had eaten all the grain they had brought from Egypt, their father said to them, "Go back and buy us a little more food." And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food. |

유다가 아비에게 말하여 가로되 그 사람이 嚴(엄)히 우리에게 警戒(경계)하여 가로되 ㄷ너희 아우가 너희와 함께 하지 아니하면 너희가 내 얼굴을
보지 못하리라 하였으니
But Judah said to him, "The man warned us solemnly, 'You will not see my face again unless your brother is with you.' And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. |

아버지께서 우리 아우를 우리와 함께 보내시면 우리가 내려가서 아버지를 爲(위)하여 糧食(양식)을 사려니와
If you will send our brother along with us, we will go down and buy food for you. If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food: |

아버지께서 萬一(만일) 그를 보내지 않으시면 우리는 내려가지 아니하리니 그 사람이 우리에게 말하기를 너희 아우가 너희와 함께하지 아니하면 너희가 내 얼굴을 보지 못하리라 하였음이니이다
But if you will not send him, we will not go down, because the man said to us, 'You will not see my face again unless your brother is with you.'" But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. |

이스라엘이 가로되 너희가 어찌하여 너희에게 오히려 아우가 있다고 그 사람에게 告(고)하여 나를 害(해)롭게 하였느냐
Israel asked, "Why did you bring this trouble on me by telling the man you had another brother?" And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother? |

그들이 가로되 그 사람이 우리와 우리의 親族(친족)에 對(대)하여 仔細(자세)히 詰問(힐문)하여 이르기를 너희 아버지가 그저 살았느냐 너희에게 아우가 있느냐 하기로 그 말을 條條(조조)이
그에게 對答(대답)한 것이라 그가 너희 아우를 데리고 내려오라 할 줄을 우리가 어찌 알았으리이까
They replied, "The man questioned us closely about ourselves and our family. 'Is your father still living?' he asked us. 'Do you have another brother?' We simply answered his questions. How were we to know he would say, 'Bring your brother down here'?" And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down? |

유다가 아비 이스라엘에게 이르되 저 아이를 나와 함께 보내시면 우리가 곧 가리니 그러면 우리와 ㄹ아버지와 우리 어린 것들이 다 살고 죽지 아니하리이다

Then Judah said to Israel his father, "Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die. And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones. |

내가 그의 몸을 擔保(담보)하오리니 아버지께서 내 손에 그를 물으소서 내가 萬一(만일) ㅁ그를 아버지께 데려다가 아버지 앞에 두지 아니하면 내가 永遠(영원)히 罪(죄)를 지리이다
I myself will guarantee his safety; you can hold me personally responsible for him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him here before you, I will bear the blame before you all my life. I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever: |

우리가 遲滯(지체)하지 아니하였더면 벌써 두 番(번) 갔다 왔으리이다
As it is, if we had not delayed, we could have gone and returned twice." For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time. |

그들의 아비 이스라엘이 그들에게 이르되 그러할찐대 이렇게 하라 너희는 이 땅의 아름다운 所産(소산)을 그릇에 담아가지고 내려가서 그 사람에게 禮物(예물)을 삼을지니 곧 ㅂ乳香(유향) 조금과
꿀 조금과 香品(향품)과 沒藥(몰약)과 榧子(비자)와 巴旦杏(파단행)이니라

Then their father Israel said to them, "If it must be, then do this: Put some of the best products of the land in your bags and take them down to the man as a gift--a little balm and a little honey, some spices and myrrh, some pistachio nuts and almonds. And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds: |

너희 손에 돈을 倍(배)나 가지고 너희 ㅅ자루 아구에 도로 넣여 온 그 돈을 다시 가지고 가라 或(혹) 差錯(차착)이
있었을까 두렵도다
Take double the amount of silver with you, for you must return the silver that was put back into the mouths of your sacks. Perhaps it was a mistake. And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight: |

네 아우도 데리고 떠나 다시 그 사람에게로 가라
Take your brother also and go back to the man at once. Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man: |
14 |
ㅇ全能(전능)하신 하나님께서 그 사람 앞에서 너희에게 ㅈ恩惠(은혜)를 베푸사 그 사람으로 너희 다른 兄弟(형제)와 베냐민을 돌려보내게 하시기를 願(원)하노라 내가
ㅊ子息(자식)을 잃게 되면 잃으리로다
And may God Almighty grant you mercy before the man so that he will let your other brother and Benjamin come back with you. As for me, if I am bereaved, I am bereaved." And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved. |

그 사람들이 그 禮物(예물)을 取(취)하고 갑절 돈을 自己(자기)들의 손에 가지고 베냐민을 데리고 애굽에 내려가서 요셉의 앞에 서니라
So the men took the gifts and double the amount of silver, and Benjamin also. They hurried down to Egypt and presented themselves to Joseph. And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph. |

● 요셉이 베냐민이 그들과 함께 있음을 보고 ㅋ청지기에게 이르되 이 사람들을 집으로 引導(인도)해 들이고 짐승을 잡고 準備(준비)하라 이 사람들이 午正(오정)에 나와 함께 먹을 것이니라
When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, "Take these men to my house, slaughter an animal and prepare dinner; they are to eat with me at noon." And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon. |

그 사람이 요셉의 命(명)대로 하여 그 사람들을 요셉의 집으로 引導(인도)하니
The man did as Joseph told him and took the men to Joseph's house. And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph's house. |
18 |
그 사람들이 요셉의 집으로 ㅌ引導(인도)되매 두려워하여 이르되 前日(전일) 우리 자루에 넣여 있던 돈의 일로 우리가 끌려드도다 이는 우리를 잡아 奴隸(노예)를 삼고 우리의 나귀를
빼앗으려 함이로다 하고

Now the men were frightened when they were taken to his house. They thought, "We were brought here because of the silver that was put back into our sacks the first time. He wants to attack us and overpower us and seize us as slaves and take our donkeys." And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph's house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses. |

그들이 요셉의 청지기에게 가까이 나아가 그 집 門(문)앞에서 그에게 告(고)하여
So they went up to Joseph's steward and spoke to him at the entrance to the house. And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house, |

가로되 내 ㅍ主(주)여 ㅎ우리가 前日(전일)에 내려와서 糧食(양식)을 사가지고
Please, sir, they said, "we came down here the first time to buy food. And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food: |

ㅏ客店(객점)에 이르러 자루를 풀어본즉 各人(각인)의 돈이 本數(본수)대로 자루 아구에 있기로 우리가 도로 가져 왔고

But at the place where we stopped for the night we opened our sacks and each of us found his silver--the exact weight--in the mouth of his sack. So we have brought it back with us. And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand. |

糧食(양식) 살 다른 돈도 우리가 가지고 내려왔나이다 우리의 돈을 우리 자루에 넣은 者(자)는 누구인지 우리가 알지 못하나이다
We have also brought additional silver with us to buy food. We don't know who put our silver in our sacks." And other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks. |

그가 이르되 너희는 安心(안심)하라, 두려워 말라 너희 하나님 너희 아버지의 하나님이 財物(재물)을 너희 자루에 넣어 너희에게 주신 것이니라 너희 돈은 내가 이미 받았느니라 하고 시므온을 그들에게로 이끌어

It's all right, he said. "Don't be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks; I received your silver." Then he brought Simeon out to them. And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them. |

그들을 요셉의 집으로 引導(인도)하고 ㅑ물을 주어 발을 씻게 하며 그 나귀에게 먹이를 주더라

The steward took the men into Joseph's house, gave them water to wash their feet and provided fodder for their donkeys. And the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses provender. |

그들이 여기서 먹겠다 함을 들으므로 ㅓ禮物(예물)을 整頓(정돈)하고 요셉이 午正(오정)에 오기를 기다리더니

They prepared their gifts for Joseph's arrival at noon, because they had heard that they were to eat there. And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there. |

요셉이 집으로 오매 그들이 그 집으로 들어가서 그 禮物(예물)을 그에게 드리고 땅에 ㅕ엎드리어 절하니
When Joseph came home, they presented to him the gifts they had brought into the house, and they bowed down before him to the ground. And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth. |

요셉이 그들의 安否(안부)를 물으며 가로되 너희 아버지 ㅗ너희가 말하던 그 老人(노인)이 安寧(안녕)하시냐 至今(지금)까지 生存(생존)하셨느냐
He asked them how they were, and then he said, "How is your aged father you told me about? Is he still living?" And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive? |

그들이 對答(대답)하되 主(주)의 종 우리 아비가 平安(평안)하고 至今(지금)까지 生存(생존)하였나이다 하고 ㅛ머리 숙여 절하더라

They replied, "Your servant our father is still alive and well." And they bowed low to pay him honor. And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance. |

요셉이 눈을 들어 ㅜ自己(자기) 어머니의 아들 自己(자기) 同生(동생) 베냐민을 보고 가로되 너희가 내게 말하던 너희 작은 同生(동생)이 이냐 그가 또 가로되 小子(소자)여 하나님이 네게 恩惠(은혜) 베푸시기를 願(원)하노라

As he looked about and saw his brother Benjamin, his own mother's son, he asked, "Is this your youngest brother, the one you told me about?" And he said, "God be gracious to you, my son." And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son. |

요셉이 아우를 因(인)하여 ㅠ마음이 타는듯 하므로 急(급)히 울곳을 찾아 안房(방)으로 들어가서 으울고
Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph hurried out and looked for a place to weep. He went into his private room and wept there. And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there. |

얼굴을 씻고 나와서 이그 情(정)을 抑制(억제)하고 음식을 차리라 하매

After he had washed his face, he came out and, controlling himself, said, "Serve the food." And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread. |

그들이 요셉에게 따로 하고 그 兄弟(형제)들에게 따로 하고 陪食(배식)하는 애굽 사람에게도 따로 하니 애굽 사람은 히브리 사람과 같이 먹으면 ㅐ不淨(부정)을
입음이었더라
They served him by himself, the brothers by themselves, and the Egyptians who ate with him by themselves, because Egyptians could not eat with Hebrews, for that is detestable to Egyptians. And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians. |

그들이 요셉의 앞에 앉되 그 長幼(장유)의 次序(차서)대로 앉히운바 되니 그들이 서로 異常(이상)히 여겼더라
The men had been seated before him in the order of their ages, from the firstborn to the youngest; and they looked at each other in astonishment. And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another. |
34 |
요셉이 ㄱ自己(자기) 植物(식물)로 그들에게 주되 베냐민에게는 다른 사람보다 ㄴ五倍(오배)나 주매 그들이 마시며 요셉과 함께 즐거워하였더라
When portions were served to them from Joseph's table, Benjamin's portion was five times as much as anyone else's. So they feasted and drank freely with him. And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him. |
