After the death of Saul, David returned from defeating the Amalekites and stayed in Ziklag two days. Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag; |

第(제) 三日(삼일)에 ㄴ한 사람이 사울의 陣(진)에서 나왔는데 ㄷ그 옷은 찢어졌고 머리에는 흙이 있더라 저가 다윗에게 나아와
ㄹ땅에 엎드려 절하매
On the third day a man arrived from Saul's camp, with his clothes torn and with dust on his head. When he came to David, he fell to the ground to pay him honor. It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance. |

다윗이 저에게 묻되 너는 어디서 왔느냐 對答(대답)하되 이스라엘 陣(진)에서 逃亡(도망)하여 왔나이다
Where have you come from? David asked him. He answered, "I have escaped from the Israelite camp." And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped. |

다윗이 가로되 ㅁ일이 어떻게 되었느뇨 너는 내게 告(고)하라 저가 對答(대답)하되 軍士(군사)가 戰爭(전쟁) 中(중)에서 逃亡(도망)하기도 하였고 무리 中(중)에 엎드러져 죽은
者(자)도 많았고 사울과 그 아들 요나단도 죽었나이다

What happened? David asked. "Tell me." He said, "The men fled from the battle. Many of them fell and died. And Saul and his son Jonathan are dead." And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also. |

다윗이 自己(자기)에게 告(고)하는 少年(소년)에게 묻되 사울과 그 아들 요나단의 죽은 줄을 네가 어떻게 아느냐
Then David said to the young man who brought him the report, "How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?" And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead? |

그에게 告(고)하는 少年(소년)이 가로되 ㅂ내가 偶然(우연)히 길보아山(산)에 올라 보니 사울이 自己(자기) 槍(창)을 依支(의지)하였고 兵車(병거)와 騎兵(기병)은 저를 促急(촉급)히 따르는데
I happened to be on Mount Gilboa, the young man said, "and there was Saul, leaning on his spear, with the chariots and riders almost upon him. And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him. |

사울이 뒤로 돌이켜 나를 보고 부르시기로 내가 對答(대답)하되 내가 여기 있나이다 한즉
When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me, and I said, 'What can I do?' And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I. |

내게 이르되 너는 누구냐 하시기로 내가 對答(대답)하되 나는 아말렉 사람이니이다 한즉
He asked me, 'Who are you?' 'An Amalekite,' I answered. And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite. |

또 내게 이르되 내 목숨이 아직 내게 完全(완전)히 있으므로 내가 苦痛(고통)에 들었나니 너는 ㅅ내 곁에 서서 나를 죽이라 하시기로

Then he said to me, 'Stand over me and kill me! I am in the throes of death, but I'm still alive.' He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me. |

저가 엎드러진 後(후)에는 살 수 없는 줄을 내가 알고 그 곁에 서서 죽이고 ㅇ그 머리에 있는 冕旒冠(면류관)과 팔에 있는 고리를 벗겨서 내 主(주)께로 가져 왔나이다

So I stood over him and killed him, because I knew that after he had fallen he could not survive. And I took the crown that was on his head and the band on his arm and have brought them here to my lord. So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord. |

● 이에 다윗이 自己(자기) 옷을 잡아 찢으매 함께 있는 모든 사람도 ㅈ그리하고
Then David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him: |

사울과 그 아들 요나단과 여호와의 百姓(백성)과 이스라엘 族屬(족속)이 칼에 죽음을 因(인)하여 ㅊ저녁때까지 슬퍼하여 울며 禁食(금식)하니라

They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the LORD and the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword. And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword. |

다윗이 그 告(고)한 少年(소년)에게 묻되 너는 어디 사람이냐 對答(대답)하되 나는 아말렉 사람 곧 外國人(외국인)의 아들이니이다
David said to the young man who brought him the report, "Where are you from?" "I am the son of an alien, an Amalekite," he answered. And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite. |

다윗이 저에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 손을 들어 ㅋ여호와의 기름부음 받은 者(자) 죽이기를 ㅌ두려워하지 아니하였느냐 하고
David asked him, "Why were you not afraid to lift your hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed?" And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed? |

ㅍ少年(소년) 中(중) 하나를 불러 이르되 가까이 가서 저를 죽이라 하매 그가 치매 곧 죽으니라

Then David called one of his men and said, "Go, strike him down!" So he struck him down, and he died. And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died. |

다윗이 저에게 이르기를 ㅎ네 피가 네 머리로 돌아갈찌어다 네 입이 네게 對(대)하여 證據(증거)하기를 내가 여호와의 기름 부음 받은
者(자)를 죽였노라 함이니라 하였더라
For David had said to him, "Your blood be on your own head. Your own mouth testified against you when you said, 'I killed the LORD'S anointed.'" And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD'S anointed. |

● 다윗이 이 슬픈 노래로 ㅏ사울과 그 아들 요나단을 弔喪(조상)하고
David took up this lament concerning Saul and his son Jonathan, And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son: |

命(명)하여 그것을 유다 族屬(족속)에게 가르치라 하였으니 곧 활 노래라 야살의 ㅑ冊(책)에 記錄(기록)되었으되

이스라엘아 너의 榮光(영광)이 山(산) 위에서 죽임을 當(당)하였도다 오호라 ㅓ두 勇士(용사)가 엎드러졌도다
Your glory, O Israel, lies slain on your heights. How the mighty have fallen! The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen! |

ㅕ이 일을 가드에도 告(고)하지 말며 ㅗ아스글론 거리에도 傳播(전파)하지 말찌어다 ㅛ블레셋 사람의 딸들이 즐거워할까,
ㅜ割禮(할례) 받지 못한 者(자)의 딸들이 凱歌(개가)를
부를까 念慮(염려)로다
Tell it not in Gath, proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines be glad, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised rejoice. Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. |

ㅠ길보아山(산)들아 너희 위에 雨露(우로)가 내리지 아니하며 祭物(제물) 낼 밭도 없을찌어다 거기서 두 勇士(용사)의 防牌(방패)가 버린 바 됨이라 곧 사울의 防牌(방패)가
으기름 부음을 받지 않음 같이 됨이로다
O mountains of Gilboa, may you have neither dew nor rain, nor fields that yield offerings of grain. For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul--no longer rubbed with oil. Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil. |

죽은 者(자)의 피에서, 勇士(용사)의 기름에서 이요나단의 활이 물러가지 아니하였으며 사울의 칼이 헛되이 돌아오지 아니하였도다

From the blood of the slain, from the flesh of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan did not turn back, the sword of Saul did not return unsatisfied. From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty. |

사울과 요나단이 生前(생전)에 사랑스럽고 아름다운 者(자)러니 죽을 때에도 서로 떠나지 아니하였도다 저희는 ㅐ독수리보다 빠르고 ㄱ獅子(사자)보다 强(강)하였도다
Saul and Jonathan--in life they were loved and gracious, and in death they were not parted. They were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions. |

이스라엘 딸들아 사울을 슬퍼하여 울찌어다 저가 붉은 옷으로 너희에게 華麗(화려)하게 입혔고 ㄴ金(금) 노리개를 너희 옷에 채웠도다

오호라 두 ㄷ勇士(용사)가 戰爭(전쟁) 中(중)에 엎드러졌도다 요나단이 너의 山(산)위에서 죽임을 當(당)하였도다

내 兄(형) 요나단이여 내가 그대를 哀痛(애통)함은 그대는 내게 甚(심)히 아름다움이라 ㄹ그대가 나를 사랑함이 奇異(기이)하여 女人(여인)의 사랑보다 勝(승)하였도다
I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women. I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women. |

오호라 두 勇士(용사)가 엎드러졌으며 싸우는 兵器(병기)가 亡(망)하였도다 하였더라
"How the mighty have fallen! The weapons of war have perished!" How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished! |
