ㅍ여룹바알이라 하는 기드온과 그를 좇은 모든 百姓(백성)이 일찌기 일어나서 ㅎ하롯 샘 곁에 陣(진)쳤고 미디안의 陣(진)은 그들의 北便(북편)이요 ㅏ모레山(산) 앞 골짜기에 있었더라
Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod. The
camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.

● 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 너를 좇은 百姓(백성)이 너무 많은즉 내가 그들의 손에 미디안 사람을 붙이지 아니하리니 이는 ㅑ이스라엘이 나를 거스려 自矜(자긍)하기를 내 손이 나를 救援(구원)하였다 할까 함이니라
The LORD said to Gideon, "You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands. In order that
Israel may not boast against me that her own strength has saved her,

이제 너는 百姓(백성)의 귀에 告(고)하여 이르기를 ㅓ누구든지 두려워서 떠는 者(자)여든 길르앗山(산)에서 떠나 돌아가라 하라 하시니 이에 돌아간 百姓(백성)이 二萬(이만)
二千名(이천명)이요 남은 者(자)가 一萬名(일만명)이었더라

announce now to the people, 'Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.'" So twenty-two
thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.

● 여호와께서 또 기드온에게 이르시되 百姓(백성)이 아직도 많으니 그들을 引導(인도)하여 물가로 내려가라 거기서 내가 너를 爲(위)하여 그들을 試驗(시험)하리라 무릇 내가 누구를
가리켜 이르기를 이가 너와 함께 가리라 하면 그는 너와 함께 갈 것이요 내가 누구를 가리켜 이르기를 이는 너와 함께 가지 말 것이니라 하면 그는 가지 말것이니라
But the LORD said to Gideon, "There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift
them for you there. If I say, 'This one shall go with you,' he shall go; but if I say, 'This one shall not
go with you,' he shall not go."

이에 百姓(백성)을 引導(인도)하여 물가에 내려가매 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 무릇 개의 핥는 것같이 그 혀로 물을 핥는 者(자)는 너는 따로 세우고 또 무릇 무릎을 꿇고
마시는 者(자)도 그같이 하라 하시더니
So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, "Separate those who lap the water with
their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink."

손으로 움켜 입에 대고 핥는 者(자)의 數(수)는 三百名(삼백명)이요 그 外(외)의 百姓(백성)은 다 무릎을 꿇고 물을 마신지라
Three hundred men lapped with their hands to their mouths. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.

여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 ㅕ내가 이 물을 핥아 먹은 三百名(삼백명)으로 너희를 救援(구원)하며 미디안 사람을 네 손에 붙이리니 남은 百姓(백성)은 各各(각각) 그 處所(처소)로
돌아갈 것이니라 하시니
The LORD said to Gideon, "With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites
into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place."

이에 百姓(백성)이 糧食(양식)과 나팔을 손에 든지라 기드온이 이스라엘의 모든 사람을 各各(각각) 그 帳幕(장막)으로 돌려보내고 그 三百名(삼백명)은 머물러 두 나라 미디안 陣(진)은
ㅗ그 아래 골짜기 가운데 있었더라

So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three hundred, who took over the
provisions and trumpets of the others. Now the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley.

● ㅛ이 밤에 여호와께서 기드온에게 이르시되 일어나 내려가서 敵陣(적진)을 치라 ㅜ내가 그것을 네 손에 붙였느니라
During that night the LORD said to Gideon, "Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it
into your hands.

萬一(만일) 네가 내려가기를 두려워 하거든 네 部下(부하) 부라를 데리고 그 陣(진)으로 내려가서
If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah
|
| 11 |
ㅠ그들의 하는 말을 들으라 그後(후)에 네 손이 强(강)하여져서 能(능)히 내려가서 그 陣(진)을 치리라
으기드온이 이에 그 部下(부하) 부라를 데리고 軍隊(군대)가 있는 陣(진) 가에 내려간즉
and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp." So he and Purah
his servant went down to the outposts of the camp.

미디안 사람과 아말렉 사람과 이東方(동방)의 모든 사람이 골짜기에 누웠는데 메뚜기의 衆多(중다)함
같고 그 약대의 無數(무수)함이 ㅐ海邊(해변)의 모래가 數多(수다)함
같은지라
The Midianites, the Amalekites and all the other eastern peoples had settled in the valley, thick as
locusts. Their camels could no more be counted than the sand on the seashore.

기드온이 그곳에 이른즉 어떤 사람이 그 동무에게 꿈을 말하여 이르기를 내가 한 꿈을 꾸었는데 꿈에 보리떡 한 덩어리가 미디안 陣(진)으로 굴러
들어와서 한 帳幕(장막)에 이르러 그것을 쳐서 무너뜨려 엎드러뜨리니 곧 쓰러지더라
Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. "I had a dream," he was saying. "A round loaf
of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent
overturned and collapsed."

그 동무가 對答(대답)하여 가로되 이는 다른 것이 아니라 이스라엘 사람 요아스의 아들 기드온의 칼날이라 하나님이 미디안과 그 모든 軍隊(군대)를 그의 손에 붙이셨느니라 하더라
His friend responded, "This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God
has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands."

● 기드온이 그 꿈과 解夢(해몽)하는 말을 듣고 敬拜(경배)하고 이스라엘 陣中(진중)에 돌아와서 이르되 일어나라, 여호와께서 미디안 軍隊(군대)를 너희 손에 붙이셨느니라 하고
When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped God. He returned to the camp of Israel and
called out, "Get up! The LORD has given the Midianite camp into your hands."

三百名(삼백명)을 세 代(대)로 나누고 各(각) 손에 나팔과 빈 항아리를 들리고 ㄱ항아리 안에는 횃불을 감추게 하고
Dividing the three hundred men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of all
of them, with torches inside.

그들에게 이르되 너희는 나만 보고 나의 하는대로 하되 내가 그 陣(진)가에 이르러서 하는대로 너희도 그리하여
Watch me, he told them. "Follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do.

| 18 |
나와 나를 좇는 者(자)가 다 나팔을 불거든 너희도 그 陣(진) 四面(사면)에서 또한 나팔을 불며
이르기를 ㄴ여호와를 爲(위)하라, 기드온을 爲(위)하라 하라 하니라
When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, then from all around the camp blow yours and shout, 'For
the LORD and for Gideon.'"

● 기드온과 그들을 좇은 一百名(일백명)이 二更(이경) 初(초)에 陣(진) 가에
이른즉 番兵(번병)의 替番(체번)할 때라 나팔을 불며
손에 가졌던 항아리를 부수니라
Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just
after they had changed the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars that were in their hands.

세 代(대)가 나팔을 불며 항아리를 부수고 左手(좌수)에 횃불을 들고 右手(우수)에 나팔을 들어
불며 외쳐 가로되 여호와와 기드온의 칼이여 하고
The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and
holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, they shouted, "A sword for the LORD and for
Gideon!"

各其(각기) 當處(당처)에 서서 그 陣(진)을 四面(사면)으로 에워싸매 그 온 ㄷ敵軍(적군)이 달음질하고 부르짖으며 逃亡(도망)하였는데

While each man held his position around the camp, all the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled.

ㄹ三百名(삼백명)이 나팔을 불 때에 ㅁ여호와께서 그 온 敵軍(적군)으로 동무끼리 ㅂ칼날로 치게 하시므로 敵軍(적군)이
逃亡(도망)하여 스레라의 벧 싯다에 이르고 또 답밧에 가까운 아벨므홀라의 境界(경계)에 이르렀으며
When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the LORD caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other
with their swords. The army fled to Beth Shittah toward Zererah as far as the border of Abel Meholah near
Tabbath.

이스라엘 사람들은 납달리와 아셀과 므낫세에서부터 모여서 미디안 사람을 쫓았더라
Israelites from Naphtali, Asher and all Manasseh were called out, and they pursued the Midianites.

| 24 |
● ㅅ기드온이 使者(사자)를 보내어 ㅇ에브라임 온 山地(산지)로 두루 行(행)하게 하여 이르기를 내려와서 미디안 사람을 치고 그들을 앞질러
ㅈ벧 바라와 요단에 이르기까지 나루턱을 取(취)하라 하매 이에 에브라임 사람들이 다 모여서 벧 바라와 요단에 이르기까지 ㅊ그 나루턱을 取(취)하고
Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, "Come down against the Midianites and
seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth Barah." So all the men of Ephraim were called
out and they took the waters of the Jordan as far as Beth Barah.

또 미디안 ㅋ두 方伯(방백) 오렙과 스엡을 사로잡아 오렙은 ㅌ오렙 바위에서 죽이고 스엡은 스엡 葡萄酒(포도주) 틀에서 죽이고 미디안 사람을
追擊(추격)하고 오렙과 스엡의 머리를 가지고 ㅍ요단 저便(편)에서 기드온에게로 나아오니라
They also captured two of the Midianite leaders, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and
Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon,
who was by the Jordan.
