Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. |

여호와 보시기에 正直(정직)히 行(행)하여 그 祖上(조상) 다윗의 길로 行(행)하여 左右(좌우)로 치우치지 아니하고
He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left. |

오히려 어렸을 때 곧 位(위)에 있은지 八年(팔년)에 그 祖上(조상) 다윗의 하나님을 비로소 求(구)하고 그 十二年(십이년)에 유다와 예루살렘을 비로소 淨潔(정결)케
하여 그 山堂(산당)과 ㅇ아세라 木像(목상)들과 아로새긴 偶像(우상)들과 부어 만든 偶像(우상)들을 除(제)하여
버리매

In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David. In his twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of high places, Asherah poles, carved idols and cast images. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images. |

무리가 王(왕)의 앞에서 바알들의 壇(단)을 毁破(훼파)하였으며 王(왕)이 또 그 壇(단) 위에 높이 달린 ㅈ太陽像(태양상)들을 찍고 또 아세라 木像(목상)들과 아로새긴
偶像(우상)들과 부어 만든 偶像(우상)들을 빻아 가루를 만들어 거기 祭祀(제사)하던 者(자)들의 무덤에 뿌리고

Under his direction the altars of the Baals were torn down; he cut to pieces the incense altars that were above them, and smashed the Asherah poles, the idols and the images. These he broke to pieces and scattered over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them. And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them. |

ㅊ祭司長(제사장)들의 뼈를 壇(단) 위에서 불살라 유다와 예루살렘을 淨潔(정결)케 하였으며
He burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and so he purged Judah and Jerusalem. And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem. |

또 므낫세와 에브라임과 시므온과 납달리까지 ㅋ四面(사면) 荒廢(황폐)한 城邑(성읍)들에도 그렇게 行(행)하여
In the towns of Manasseh, Ephraim and Simeon, as far as Naphtali, and in the ruins around them, And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about. |

壇(단)들을 毁破(훼파)하며 ㅌ아세라 木像(목상)들과 아로새긴 偶像(우상)들을 빻아 가루를 만들며 온 이스라엘 땅에 있는 모든 太陽像(태양상)을
찍고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔더라

he tore down the altars and the Asherah poles and crushed the idols to powder and cut to pieces all the incense altars throughout Israel. Then he went back to Jerusalem. And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem. |

● 요시야가 位(위)에 있은지 ㅍ十八年(십팔년)에 그 땅과 殿(전)을 淨潔(정결)케 하기를 마치고 그 하나님 여호와의 殿(전)을 修理(수리)하려
하여 아살랴의 아들 사반과 ㅎ府尹(부윤) 마아세야와 ㅏ書記官(서기관) 요아하스의 아들 요아를 보낸지라
In the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign, to purify the land and the temple, he sent Shaphan son of Azaliah and Maaseiah the ruler of the city, with Joah son of Joahaz, the recorder, to repair the temple of the LORD his God. Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God. |

저희가 大祭司長(대제사장) ㅑ힐기야에게 나아가 前(전)에 하나님의 殿(전)에 捐補(연보)한 돈을 저에게 붙이니 이 돈은 門(문)을 지키는 레위 사람이 므낫세와 에브라임과 남아 있는 이스라엘 사람과 온 유다와 베냐민과 예루살렘
居民(거민)들에게서 거둔 것이라

They went to Hilkiah the high priest and gave him the money that had been brought into the temple of God, which the Levites who were the doorkeepers had collected from the people of Manasseh, Ephraim and the entire remnant of Israel and from all the people of Judah and Benjamin and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem. |

그 돈을 여호와의 殿(전) 役事(역사)를 監督(감독)하는 者(자)의 손에 붙이니 저희가 여호와의 殿(전)에 있는 工匠(공장)에게
주어 그 殿(전)을 修理(수리)하게 하되
Then they entrusted it to the men appointed to supervise the work on the LORD'S temple. These men paid the workers who repaired and restored the temple. And they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the LORD, and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the LORD, to repair and amend the house: |

곧 木手(목수)와 建築(건축)하는 者(자)에게 붙여 다듬은 돌과 連接(연접)하는 나무를 사며 유다 王(왕)들이 ㅓ헐어버린 殿(전)들을 爲(위)하여 들보를 만들게 하매

They also gave money to the carpenters and builders to purchase dressed stone, and timber for joists and beams for the buildings that the kings of Judah had allowed to fall into ruin. Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed. |

그 사람들이 眞實(진실)히 그 일을 하니라 그 監督(감독)은 레위 사람 곧 므라리 子孫(자손) 中(중) 야핫과 오바댜요 그핫 子孫(자손) 中(중) 스가랴와 무술람이라 다 그 일을 主掌(주장)하고 ㅕ또 音樂(음악)에 익숙한 레위 사람이 함께 하였으며

The men did the work faithfully. Over them to direct them were Jahath and Obadiah, Levites descended from Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, descended from Kohath. The Levites--all who were skilled in playing musical instruments-- And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick. |

저희가 또 ㅗ擔負(담부)하는 者(자)를 管轄(관할)하며 凡百(범백) 工匠(공장)을 董督(동독)하고 어떤 레위 사람은 書記(서기)와 官吏(관리)와 門(문)지기가 되었더라
had charge of the laborers and supervised all the workers from job to job. Some of the Levites were secretaries, scribes and doorkeepers. Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters. |

● 무리가 여호와의 殿(전)에 捐補(연보)한 돈을 꺼낼 때에 祭司長(제사장) 힐기야가 모세의 傳(전)한 여호와의 律法冊(율법책)을 發見(발견)하고
While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the temple of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the LORD that had been given through Moses. And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the LORD given by Moses. |

書記官(서기관) 사반에게 일러 가로되 내가 여호와의 殿(전)에서 律法冊(율법책)을 發見(발견)하였노라 하고 그 冊(책)을 사반에게 주매
Hilkiah said to Shaphan the secretary, "I have found the Book of the Law in the temple of the LORD." He gave it to Shaphan. And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. |

사반이 冊(책)을 가지고 王(왕)에게 나아가서 復命(복명)하여 가로되 王(왕)께서 종들에게 命(명)하신 것을 종들이 다 遵行(준행)하였나이다
Then Shaphan took the book to the king and reported to him: "Your officials are doing everything that has been committed to them. And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it. |
17 |
또 여호와의 殿(전)에 있던 돈을 쏟아서 監督者(감독자)와 工匠(공장)의 손에 붙였나이다 하고
They have paid out the money that was in the temple of the LORD and have entrusted it to the supervisors and workers." And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen. |

書記官(서기관) 사반이 또 王(왕)에게 告(고)하여 가로되 祭司長(제사장) 힐기야가 내게 冊(책)을 주더이다 하고 사반이 王(왕)의 앞에서 읽으매
Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a book." And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king. Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. |

王(왕)이 律法(율법)의 말씀을 듣자 곧 自己(자기) ㅛ옷을 찢더라

When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes. And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. |

王(왕)이 힐기야와 사반의 아들 아히감과 미가의 아들 압돈과 書記官(서기관) 사반과 王(왕)의 侍臣(시신) 아사야에게 命(명)하여 가로되
He gave these orders to Hilkiah, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of Micah, Shaphan the secretary and Asaiah the king's attendant: And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying, |

너희는 가서 나와 및 이스라엘과 유다의 남은 者(자)를 爲(위)하여 이 發見(발견)한 冊(책)의 말씀에 對(대)하여 여호와께 물으라 우리 列祖(열조)가 여호와의 말씀을 지키지 아니하고 이 冊(책)에
記錄(기록)된 모든 것을 遵行(준행)치 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 ㅜ우리에게 쏟으신 震怒(진노)가 크도다

Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for the remnant in Israel and Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the LORD'S anger that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written in this book. Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book. |

● 이에 힐기야와 王(왕)의 보낸 사람들이 女先知者(여선지자) 훌다에게로 나아가니 저는 하스라의 孫子(손자) 독핫의 아들 禮服(예복)을 主管(주관)하는 살룸의 아내라 예루살렘 둘째 區域(구역)에 居(거)하였더라 저희가 그에게 이 뜻으로 告(고)하매
Hilkiah and those the king had sent with him went to speak to the prophetess Huldah, who was the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem, in the Second District. And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect. |

훌다가 저희에게 이르되 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀으로 너희는 너희를 내게 보낸 사람에게 告(고)하기를
She said to them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Tell the man who sent you to me, And she answered them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me, |

여호와의 말씀이 내가 이곳과 그 居民(거민)에게 災殃(재앙)을 내리되 곧 유다 王(왕) 앞에서 읽은 冊(책)에 記錄(기록)된 모든 詛呪(저주)대로 하리니
'This is what the LORD says: I am going to bring disaster on this place and its people--all the curses written in the book that has been read in the presence of the king of Judah. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah: |

이는 이 百姓(백성)이 나를 버리고 ㅠ다른 神(신)에게 焚香(분향)하며 그 손의 모든 所爲(소위)로 나의 怒(노)를 激發(격발)하였음이라 그러므로 나의 怒(노)를 이곳에 쏟으매 꺼지지 아니하리라 하라 하셨느니라
Because they have forsaken me and burned incense to other gods and provoked me to anger by all that their hands have made, my anger will be poured out on this place and will not be quenched.' Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched. |

너희를 보내어 여호와께 묻게 한 유다 王(왕)에게는 너희가 이렇게 告(고)하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 네가 들은 말을 議論(의논)컨대
Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, 'This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says concerning the words you heard: And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard; |
27 |
내가 이곳과 그 居民(거민)을 가리켜 말한 것을 네가 듣고 마음이 連(연)하여
하나님 앞 곧 내 앞에서 兼備(겸비)하여 옷을 찢고 痛哭(통곡)하였으므로 나도 네 말을 들었노라 여호와가 말하였느니라
Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the LORD. Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD. |
28 |
그러므로 내가 너로 너의 列祖(열조)에게 돌아가서 平安(평안)히 墓室(묘실)로 들어가게 하리니 내가 이곳과 그 居民(거민)에게 내리는 모든 災殃(재앙)을 네가 눈으로 보지 못하리라 하셨느니라 使者(사자)들이 王(왕)에게 復命(복명)하니라
Now I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be buried in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place and on those who live here.'" So they took her answer back to the king. Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again. |

● 으王(왕)이 보내어 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 長老(장로)를 불러 모으고
Then the king called together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. |
30 |
이에 여호와의 殿(전)에 올라가매 유다 모든 사람과 예루살렘 居民(거민)과 祭司長(제사장)들과 레위 사람들과 모든 百姓(백성)이 無論(무론) 老少(노소)하고 다 함께한지라 王(왕)이 여호와의 殿(전) 안에서 發見(발견)한 言約冊(언약책)의 모든 말씀을 읽어 무리의 귀에 들리고
He went up to the temple of the LORD with the men of Judah, the people of Jerusalem, the priests and the Levites--all the people from the least to the greatest. He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the temple of the LORD. And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD. |

王(왕)이 自己(자기) 이處所(처소)에 서서 여호와 앞에서 ㅐ言約(언약)을 세우되 마음을 다하고 性稟(성품)을 다하여 여호와를 順從(순종)하고 그 誡命(계명)과 法度(법도)와 律例(율례)를 지켜 이 冊(책)에 記錄(기록)된 言約(언약)의 말씀을 이루리라 하고
The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the LORD--to follow the LORD and keep his commands, regulations and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book. And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book. |

예루살렘과 베냐민에 있는 者(자)들로 다 이에 參加(참가)하게 하매 예루살렘 居民(거민)이 하나님 곧 그 列祖(열조)의 하나님의 言約(언약)을 좇으니라
Then he had everyone in Jerusalem and Benjamin pledge themselves to it; the people of Jerusalem did this in accordance with the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. |

이와 같이 요시야가 이스라엘 子孫(자손)에게 屬(속)한 모든 땅에서 ㄱ可憎(가증)한 것을 다 除(제)하여 버리고
이스라엘의 모든 사람으로 그 하나님 여호와를 섬기게 하였으므로 요시야가 사는 날에 百姓(백성)이 그 列祖(열조)의 하나님 여호와께 服從(복종)하고 떠나지 아니하였더라
Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the LORD their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the LORD, the God of their fathers. And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the LORD their God. And all his days they departed not from following the LORD, the God of their fathers. |
