사라가 가나안 땅 헤브론 곧 ㅐ기럇아르바에서 죽으매 ㄱ아브라함이 들어가서 사라를 爲(위)하여 슬퍼하며 哀痛(애통)하다가
She died at Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep over her. And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. |

그 屍體(시체) 앞에서 일어나 나가서 헷 族屬(족속)에게 말하여 가로되
Then Abraham rose from beside his dead wife and spoke to the Hittites. He said, And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, |

ㄴ나는 當身(당신)들 中(중)에 나그네요 寓居(우거)한 者(자)니 請(청)컨대 當身(당신)들 中(중)에서 내게 埋葬地(매장지)를 주어
ㄷ所有(소유)를 삼아 나로 내 죽은 者(자)를 내어 葬事(장사)하게 하시오
I am an alien and a stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead. I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. |

헷 族屬(족속)이 아브라함에게 對答(대답)하여 가로되
The Hittites replied to Abraham, And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him, |

내 主(주)여 들으소서 當身(당신)은 우리 中(중) 하나님의 方伯(방백)이시니 우리 墓室(묘실) 中(중)에서 좋은 것을 擇(택)하여 當身(당신)의 죽은 者(자)를 葬事(장사)하소서
우리 中(중)에서 自己(자기) 墓室(묘실)에 當身(당신)의 죽은 者(자) 葬事(장사)함을 禁(금)할 者(자)가 없으리이다
Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead. Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. |

아브라함이 일어나 그 땅 居民(거민) 헷 族屬(족속)을 向(향)하여 몸을 굽히고
Then Abraham rose and bowed down before the people of the land, the Hittites. And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth. |

그들에게 말하여 가로되 나로 나의 죽은 者(자)를 내어 葬事(장사)하게 하는 일이 當身(당신)들의 뜻일찐대 내 말을 듣고 나를 爲(위)하여 소할의 아들 에브론에게 求(구)하여
He said to them, "If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar on my behalf And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, |

그로 그 밭머리에 있는 막벨라 窟(굴)을 내게 주게 하되 準價(준가)를 받고 그 窟(굴)을 내게 주어서 當身(당신)들 中(중)에 내 所有(소유) 埋葬地(매장지)가
되게 하기를 願(원)하노라
so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you." That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. |

때에 에브론이 헷 族屬(족속) 中(중)에 앉았더니 그가 헷 族屬(족속) 곧 ㄹ城門(성문)에 들어온 모든 者(자)의 듣는데 아브라함에게 對答(대답)하여 가로되
Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city. And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, |

내 主(주)여 그리 마시고 내 말을 들으소서 내가 그 밭을 當身(당신)께 드리되 내가 내 同族(동족) 앞에서 當身(당신)께 드리고 그 속의 窟(굴)도 내가 當身(당신)께 드리되 내가 내 同族(동족) 앞에서
當身(당신)께 드리오니 當身(당신)의 죽은 者(자)를 葬事(장사)하소서
No, my lord, he said. "Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead." Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead. |

아브라함이 이에 그 땅 百姓(백성)을 對(대)하여 몸을 굽히고
Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land. |
13 |
그 땅 百姓(백성)의 듣는데 에브론에게 말하여 가로되 當身(당신)이 合當(합당)히 여기면 請(청)컨대 내 말을 들으시오 내가 그 밭값을 當身(당신)에게 주리니 當身(당신)은 내게서 받으시오 내가 나의 죽은
者(자)를 거기 葬事(장사)하겠노라
and he said to Ephron in their hearing, "Listen to me, if you will. I will pay the price of the field. Accept it from me so I can bury my dead there." And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there. |

에브론이 아브라함에게 對答(대답)하여 가로되
Ephron answered Abraham, And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him, |

내 主(주)여 내게 들으소서 땅ㅁ값은 銀(은) 四百(사백) 세겔이나 나와 當身(당신) 사이에 어찌 較計(교계)하리이까 當身(당신)의 죽은 者(자)를 葬事(장사)하소서
Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between me and you? Bury your dead. My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead. |

아브라함이 에브론의 말을 좇아 에브론이 헷 族屬(족속)의 듣는데서 말한 대로 商賈(상고)의 通用(통용)하는 銀(은) 四百(사백) 세겔을 ㅂ달아 에브론에게 주었더니
Abraham agreed to Ephron's terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants. And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant. |

마므레 앞 막벨라에 있는 ㅅ에브론의 밭을 바꾸어 그 속의 窟(굴)과 그 四方(사방)에 둘린 樹木(수목)을 다
So Ephron's field in Machpelah near Mamre--both the field and the cave in it, and all the trees within the borders of the field--was deeded And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure |

城門(성문)에 들어온 헷 族屬(족속) 앞에서 아브라함의 所有(소유)로 定(정)한지라
to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of the city. Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city. |

그 後(후)에 아브라함이 그 아내 사라를 가나안 땅 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭 窟(굴)에 葬事(장사)하였더라 (마므레는 곧 헤브론이라)
Afterward Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave in the field of Machpelah near Mamre (which is at Hebron) in the land of Canaan. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. |

이와 같이 그 밭과 그 속의 窟(굴)을 헷 族屬(족속)이 ㅇ아브라함 所有(소유) 埋葬地(매장지)로 定(정)하였더라
So the field and the cave in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as a burial site. And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth. |
