하나님의 지으시던 일이 이일곱째 날이 이를 때에 마치니 그 지으시던 일이 다하므로 일곱째 날에 安息(안식)하시니라
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. |

하나님이 일곱째 날을 福(복)주사 거룩하게 하셨으니 이는 하나님이 그 創造(창조)하시며 만드시던 모든 일을 마치시고 이 날에 安息(안식)하셨음이더라
And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. |

● 여호와 하나님이 天地(천지)를 創造(창조)하신 때에 ㅐ天地(천지)의 創造(창조)된 大略(대략)이 이러하니라

여호와 하나님이 땅에 비를 내리지 아니하셨고
ㄱ耕作(경작)할 사람도 없었으므로 ㄴ들에는 草木(초목)이 아직 없었고 밭에는 菜蔬(채소)가 나지 아니하였으며
and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. |

안개만 땅에서 올라와 온 地面(지면)을
적셨더라
but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground-- But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. |

여호와 하나님이 ㄷ흙으로 사람을 지으시고 ㄹ生氣(생기)를 그 코에 ㅁ불어 넣으시니 ㅂ사람이 生靈(생령)이
된지라
the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. |

여호와 하나님이 東方(동방)의 ㅅ에덴에 동산을 創設(창설)하시고 그 지으신 사람을 거기 두시고
Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. |

여호와 하나님이 그 땅에서 보기에 아름답고 먹기에 좋은 나무가 나게 하시니 ㅇ동산 가운데에는 生命(생명)나무와 ㅈ善惡(선악)을 알게하는 나무도 있더라
And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. |

江(강)이 에덴에서 發源(발원)하여 동산을 적시고 거기서부터 갈라져 네 根源(근원)이 되었으니
A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. |

첫째의 이름은 비손이라 金(금)이 있는 ㅊ하윌라 온 땅에 둘렸으며
The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; |

그 땅의 金(금)은 精金(정금)이요
그곳에는 1)베델리엄과 縞瑪瑙(호마노)도 있으며
1) 진주
(The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.) And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. |

둘째 江(강)의 이름은 기혼이라 구스 온 땅에 둘렸고
The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. |

세째 江(강)의 이름은 ㅋ힛데겔이라 앗수르 東便(동편)으로 흐르며 네째 江(강)은 유브라데더라

The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. |

여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 ㅌ에덴 동산에 두사 그것을 다스리며 지키게 하시고

The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. |

여호와 하나님이 그 사람에게 命(명)하여 가라사대 동산 各種(각종) 나무의 實果(실과)는 네가 任意(임의)로 먹되
And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: |
17 |
善惡(선악)을 알게하는 나무의 實果(실과)는 ㅍ먹지 말라, 네가 먹는 날에는 ㅎ丁寧(정녕) 죽으리라
하시니라
but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. |
18 |
● 여호와 하나님이 가라사대 사람의 獨處(독처)하는 것이 좋지 못하니 내가 ㅏ그를 爲(위)하여 돕는 配匹(배필)을 지으리라 하시니라
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. |
19 |
여호와 하나님이 흙으로 各種(각종) ㅑ들짐승과 空中(공중)의 各種(각종) 새를 지으시고 아담이 어떻게 이름을 짓나 보시려고 그것들을 ㅓ그에게로 이끌어 이르시니 아담이 各(각) 生物(생물)을 일컫는 바가 곧
그 이름이라
Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. |
20 |
아담이 모든 六畜(육축)과 空中(공중)의 새와 들의 모든 짐승에게 이름을 주니라 아담이 돕는 配匹(배필)이 없으므로
So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. |

여호와 하나님이 아담을 ㅕ깊이 잠들게 하시니 잠들매 그가 그 갈빗대 하나를 取(취)하고 살로 代身(대신) 채우시고
So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; |

여호와 하나님이 아담에게서 取(취)하신 그 갈빗대로 女子(여자)를 만드시고 그를 아담에게로 이끌어 오시니
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. |
23 |
아담이 가로되 이는 ㅗ내 뼈 中(중)의 뼈요 살 中(중)의 살이라 이것을 ㅛ男子(남자)에게서 取(취)하였은즉 女子(여자)라 稱(칭)하리라 하니라
The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. |
24 |
ㅜ이러므로 男子(남자)가 父母(부모)를 떠나 그 아내와 聯合(연합)하여 둘이 한 몸을 이룰지로다
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. |
25 |
아담과 그 아내 두 사람이 벌거벗었으나 부끄러워 아니하니라
The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. |
