ㅊ秋收(추수) 때에 비오는 것 같으니라
Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, honor is not fitting for a fool. As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool. |

ㅋ까닭 없는 詛呪(저주)는 ㅌ참새의 떠도는 것과 제비의 날아가는 것 같이 이르지 아니하느니라
Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come. |

ㅍ말에게는 채찍이요 나귀에게는 자갈이요 ㅎ미련한 者(자)의 등에는 막대기니라
A whip for the horse, a halter for the donkey, and a rod for the backs of fools! A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. |

ㅏ미련한 者(자)의 어리석은 것을 따라 對答(대답)하지 말라 두렵건대 네가 그와 같을까 하노라
Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. |

ㅑ미련한 者(자)의 어리석은 것을 따라 그에게 對答(대답)하라 두렵건대 그가 ㅓ스스로 智慧(지혜)롭게 여길까 하노라
Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. |

미련한 者(자) 便(편)에 奇別(기별)하는 것은 自己(자기)의 발을 베어 버림이라 ㅕ害(해)를 받느니라
Like cutting off one's feet or drinking violence is the sending of a message by the hand of a fool. He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage. |

저는 者(자)의 다리는 힘 없이 달렸나니 미련한 者(자)의 입의 箴言(잠언)도 그러하니라
Like a lame man's legs that hang limp is a proverb in the mouth of a fool. The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools. |

Like an archer who wounds at random is he who hires a fool or any passer-by. The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors. |

ㅜ개가 그 吐(토)한 것을 도로 먹는 것 같이 ㅠ미련한 者(자)는 그 미련한 것을 거듭 行(행)하느니라
As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly. As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. |

네가 스스로 智慧(지혜)롭게 여기는 者(자)를 보느냐 으그보다 미련한 者(자)에게 오히려 바랄 것이 있느니라

ㅐ게으른 者(자)는 그 손을 그릇에 넣고도 입으로 올리기를 괴로와하느니라

게으른 者(자)는 ㄱ善(선)히 對答(대답)하는 사람 ㄴ일곱보다 自己(자기)를 智慧(지혜)롭게 여기느니라
The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer discreetly. The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason. |

길로 지나다가 自己(자기)에게 相關(상관)없는 다툼을 干涉(간섭)하는 者(자)는 개 귀를 잡는 者(자)와 같으니라
Like one who seizes a dog by the ears is a passer-by who meddles in a quarrel not his own. He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears. |

나무가 다하면 불이 꺼지고 ㄹ말장이가 없어지면 ㅁ다툼이 쉬느니라
Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down. Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. |

숯불 위에 숯을 더하는 것과 타는 불에 나무를 더하는 것 같이 ㅂ다툼을 좋아하는 者(자)는 是非(시비)를 일으키느니라

Like a coating of glaze over earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart. Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. |

感情(감정)있는 者(자)는 입술로는 꾸미고 속에는 詭譎(궤휼)을 품나니
A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; |

ㅊ그 말이 좋을찌라도 믿지 말 것은 ㅋ그 마음에 일곱 가지 可憎(가증)한
것이 있음이라
Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart. When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. |

詭譎(궤휼)로 그 感情(감정)을 감출찌라도 그 惡(악)이 會衆(회중) 앞에 드러나리라
His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation. |

ㅌ陷穽(함정)을 파는 者(자)는 그것에 빠질 것이요 돌을 굴리는 者(자)는 도리어 그것에 치이리라
If a man digs a pit, he will fall into it; if a man rolls a stone, it will roll back on him. Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him. |

거짓말하는 者(자)는 自己(자기)의 害(해)한 者(자)를 미워하고 阿諂(아첨)하는 입은 敗亡(패망)을 일으키느니라
A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin. A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin. |
