1 智慧(지혜)가 그 집을 짓고 일곱 기둥을 다듬고

Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars.

Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

2 짐승을 잡으며 葡萄酒(포도주)를 混合(혼합)하여 床(상)을 갖추고

She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.

She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

3 그 女(여)종을 보내어 城中(성중) 높은 곳에서 불러 이르기를

She has sent out her maids, and she calls from the highest point of the city.

She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

4 무릇 어리석은 者(자)는 이리로 돌이키라 또 智慧(지혜)없는 者(자)에게 이르기를

Let all who are simple come in here! she says to those who lack judgment.

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

5 너는 와서 植物(식물)을 먹으며 내 混合(혼합)한 葡萄酒(포도주)를 마시고

Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.

Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

6 어리석음을 버리고 生命(생명)을 얻으라 明哲(명철)의 길을 行(행)하라 하느니라

Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

7 ● 倨慢(거만)한 者(자)를 懲戒(징계)하는 者(자)는 도리어 凌辱(능욕)을 받고 惡人(악인)을 責望(책망)하는 者(자)는 도리어 欠(흠)을 잡히느니라

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse.

He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

8 倨慢(거만)한 者(자)를 責望(책망)하지 말라 그가 너를 미워할까 두려우니라 智慧(지혜)있는 者(자)를 責望(책망)하라 그가 너를 사랑하리라

Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you.

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

9 智慧(지혜) 있는 者(자)에게 敎訓(교훈)을 더하라 그가 더욱 智慧(지혜)로와질 것이요義(의)로운 사람을 가르치라 그의 學識(학식)이 더하리라

Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

10 여호와를 敬畏(경외)하는 것이 智慧(지혜)의 根本(근본)이요 거룩하신 者(자)를 아는 것이 明哲(명철)이니라

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11 智慧(지혜)로 말미암아 네 날이 많아질 것이요 네 生命(생명)의 해가 더하리라

For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.

For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

12 네가 萬一(만일) 智慧(지혜)로우면 그 智慧(지혜)가 네게 有益(유익)할 것이나 네가 萬一(만일) 倨慢(거만)하면 너 홀로 害(해)를 當(당)하리라

If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer."

If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

13 미련한 계집이 떠들며 어리석어서 아무 것도 알지 못하고

The woman Folly is loud; she is undisciplined and without knowledge.

A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

14 自己(자기) 집 門(문)에 앉으며 城邑(성읍) 높은 곳에 있는 자리에 앉아서
잠9:3

She sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city,

For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

15 自己(자기) 길을 바로 가는 行客(행객)을 불러 이르되
잠9:6

calling out to those who pass by, who go straight on their way.

To call passengers who go right on their ways:

16 무릇 어리석은 者(자)는 이리로 돌이키라 또 智慧(지혜)없는 者(자)에게 이르기를
잠9:4

Let all who are simple come in here! she says to those who lack judgment.

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

17 盜賊(도적)질한 물이 달고 몰래 먹는 떡이 맛이 있다 하는도다

Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!

Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

18 오직 그 어리석은 者(자)는 죽은 者(자)가 그의 곳에 있는 것과 그의 客(객)들이 陰府(음부) 깊은 곳에 있는 것을 알지 못하느니라

But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of the grave.

But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
