Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. |

A king's wrath is like the roar of a lion; he who angers him forfeits his life. The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul. |

ㅐ다툼을 멀리 하는 것이 사람에게 榮光(영광)이어늘 미련한 者(자)마다 ㄱ다툼을 일으키느니라
It is to a man's honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel. It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. |

ㄴ게으른 者(자)는 가을에 밭 갈지 아니하나니 ㄷ그러므로 거둘 때에는 求乞(구걸)할찌라도 얻지 못하리라
A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing. The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. |

사람의 마음에 있는 謀略(모략)은 ㄹ깊은 물 같으니라 그럴찌라도 明哲(명철)한 사람은 그것을 길어 내느니라

많은 사람은 各其(각기) ㅁ自己(자기)의 仁慈(인자)함을 자랑하나니 ㅂ忠誠(충성)된 者(자)를 누가 만날 수 있으랴
Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find? Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? |

ㅅ完全(완전)히 行(행)하는 者(자)가 義人(의인)이라 ㅇ그 後孫(후손)에게 福(복)이 있느니라
The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him. The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. |

ㅈ審判(심판) 자리에 앉은 王(왕)은 ㅊ그 눈으로 모든 惡(악)을 흩어지게 하느니라
When a king sits on his throne to judge, he winnows out all evil with his eyes. A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes. |

ㅌ한결 같지 않은 저울 錘(추)와 말은 다 여호와께서 미워하시느니라
Differing weights and differing measures--the LORD detests them both. Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD. |

비록 아이라도 ㅍ그 動作(동작)으로 自己(자기)의 品行(품행)의 淸潔(청결)하며 正直(정직)한 與否(여부)를 나타내느니라

ㅎ듣는 귀와 보는 눈은 다 ㅏ여호와의 지으신 것이니라
Ears that hear and eyes that see--the LORD has made them both. The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them. |

너는 ㅑ잠자기를 좋아하지 말라 네가 ㅓ貧窮(빈궁)하게 될까 두려우니라 네 눈을 뜨라 그리하면 ㅕ糧食(양식)에 足(족)하리라
Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare. Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread. |

사는 者(자)가 物件(물건)이 좋지 못하다 좋지 못하다 하다가 돌아간 後(후)에는 자랑하느니라
It's no good, it's no good! says the buyer; then off he goes and boasts about his purchase. It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth. |

世上(세상)에 金(금)도 있고 ㅗ眞珠(진주)도 많거니와 ㅛ智慧(지혜)로운 입술이 더욱 貴(귀)한 보배니라
Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel. There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel. |

ㅜ他人(타인)을 爲(위)하여 保證(보증)이 된 者(자)의 옷을 取(취)하라 ㅠ外人(외인)들의 保證(보증)이 된 者(자)는 으그 몸을 볼모
잡힐찌니라
Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if he does it for a wayward woman. Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. |

이속이고 取(취)한 植物(식물)은 맛이 좋은듯하나 後(후)에는 그 입에 ㅐ모래가 가득하게 되리라
Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel. Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. |

ㄱ무릇 經營(경영)은 議論(의논)함으로 成就(성취)하나니 ㄴ謀略(모략)을 베풀고 ㄷ戰爭(전쟁)할찌니라
Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance. Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war. |

ㄹ두루 다니며 閒談(한담)하는 者(자)는 남의 秘密(비밀)를 漏洩(누설)하니니 ㅁ입술을 벌린 者(자)를 사귀지 말찌니라
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much. He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. |

ㅂ自己(자기)의 아비나 어미를 詛呪(저주)하는 者(자)는 ㅅ그 燈(등)불이 幽暗(유암)
中(중)에 꺼짐을 當(당)하리라
If a man curses his father or mother, his lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness. Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. |

Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you. Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee. |

ㅋ한결 같지 않은 저울 錘(추)는 여호와의 미워하시는 것이요 ㅌ속이는 저울은 좋지 못한 것이니라
The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him. Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good. |

ㅓ사람의 靈魂(영혼)은 여호와의 燈(등)불이라 ㅕ사람의 깊은 속을 ㅗ살피느니라
The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being. The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. |

王(왕)은 ㅛ仁慈(인자)와 眞理(진리)로 스스로 保護(보호)하고 ㅜ그
位(위)도 仁慈(인자)함으로 말미암아 堅固(견고)하니라
Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure. Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy. |
