여호와의 櫃(궤)를 지키게 하였더니

1) 기브아
So the men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD. They took it to Abinadab's house on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the LORD. And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. |

櫃(궤)가 기럇여아림에 들어간 날부터 二十年(이십년) 동안을 오래 있은지라 이스라엘 온 族屬(족속)이 여호와를 思慕(사모)하니라
It was a long time, twenty years in all, that the ark remained at Kiriath Jearim, and all the people of Israel mourned and sought after the LORD. And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD. |

● 사무엘이 이스라엘 온 族屬(족속)에게 일러 가로되 ㅇ너희가 全心(전심)으로 여호와께 돌아오려거든 異邦(이방) 神(신)들과 ㅈ아스다롯을 너희 中(중)에서
ㅊ除(제)하고 너희 ㅋ마음을 여호와께로 向(향)하여 ㅌ그만 섬기라 너희를 블레셋 사람의 손에서 건져내시리라
And Samuel said to the whole house of Israel, "If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the LORD and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines." And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. |

이에 이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 바알들과 아스다롯을 除(제)하고 여호와만 섬기니라
So the Israelites put away their Baals and Ashtoreths, and served the LORD only. Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only. |

● 사무엘이 가로되 온 이스라엘은 ㅍ미스바로 모이라 내가 너희를 爲(위)하여 여호와께 祈禱(기도)하리라 하매

Then Samuel said, "Assemble all Israel at Mizpah and I will intercede with the LORD for you." And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD. |

그들이 미스바에 모여 ㅎ물을 길어 여호와 앞에 붓고 ㅏ그날에 禁食(금식)하고 거기서 가로되 ㅑ우리가 여호와께 犯罪(범죄)하였나이다 하니라 사무엘이
미스바에서 이스라엘 子孫(자손)을 다스리니라
When they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the LORD. On that day they fasted and there they confessed, "We have sinned against the LORD." And Samuel was leader of Israel at Mizpah. And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh. |

이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 미스바에 모였다 함을 블레셋 사람이 듣고 그 方伯(방백)들이 이스라엘을 치러 올라온지라 이스라엘 子孫(자손)이 듣고 블레셋 사람을 두려워하여
When the Philistines heard that Israel had assembled at Mizpah, the rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. And when the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines. And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines. |

사무엘에게 이르되 當身(당신)은 우리를 爲(위)하여 우리 하나님 여호와께 쉬지 말고 부르짖어 우리를 블레셋 사람의 손에서 救援(구원)하시게 하소서
They said to Samuel, "Do not stop crying out to the LORD our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines." And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines. |

사무엘이 젖 먹는 어린 羊(양)을 取(취)하여 穩全(온전)한 燔祭(번제)를 여호와께 드리고 ㅓ이스라엘을 爲(위)하여 여호와께 부르짖으매
여호와께서 應答(응답)하셨더라
Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it up as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on Israel's behalf, and the LORD answered him. And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him. |

사무엘이 燔祭(번제)를 드릴 때에 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘과 싸우려고 가까이 오매 ㅕ그날에 여호와께서 블레셋 사람에게 큰 雨雷(우뢰)를
發(발)하여 그들을 어지럽게 하시니 그들이 이스라엘 앞에 敗(패)한지라
While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the LORD thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites. And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel. |

이스라엘 사람들이 미스바에서 나가서 블레셋 사람을 따라 벧갈 아래에 이르기까지 쳤더라
The men of Israel rushed out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, slaughtering them along the way to a point below Beth Car. And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar. |

● 사무엘이 ㅗ돌을 取(취)하여 미스바와 센 사이에 세워 가로되 여호와께서 여기까지 우리를 도우셨다 하고 그 이름을 2)에벤에셀이라 하니라
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far has the LORD helped us." Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us. |

ㅛ이에 블레셋 사람이 屈服(굴복)하여 다시는 이스라엘 境內(경내)에 들어오지 못하였으며 여호와의 손이 사무엘의 사는 날 동안에 블레셋 사람을 막으시매

So the Philistines were subdued and did not invade Israelite territory again. Throughout Samuel's lifetime, the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines. So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. |

블레셋 사람이 이스라엘에게서 빼앗았던 城邑(성읍)이 에그론부터 가드까지 이스라엘에게 回復(회복)되니 이스라엘이 그 四方(사방) 地境(지경)을
블레셋 사람의 손에서 도로 찾았고 또 이스라엘과 아모리 사람 사이에 平和(평화)가 있었더라
The towns from Ekron to Gath that the Philistines had captured from Israel were restored to her, and Israel delivered the neighboring territory from the power of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. |

● ㅜ사무엘이 사는 날 동안에 이스라엘을 다스렸으되
Samuel continued as judge over Israel all the days of his life. And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life. |
16 |
해마다 벧엘과 길갈과 미스바로 巡廻(순회)하여 그 모든 곳에서 이스라엘을 다스렸고
From year to year he went on a circuit from Bethel to Gilgal to Mizpah, judging Israel in all those places. And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places. |
17 |
ㅠ라마로 돌아왔으니 이는 거기 自己(자기) 집이 있음이라 거기서도 이스라엘을 다스렸으며 또 거기 으여호와를 爲(위)하여 壇(단)을 쌓았더라
But he always went back to Ramah, where his home was, and there he also judged Israel. And he built an altar there to the LORD. And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD. |
