베냐민 支派(지파)에 ㅍ기스라 이름하는 有力(유력)한 사람이 있으니 그는 아비엘의 아들이요 스롤의 孫子(손자)요 베고랏의
曾孫(증손)이요 아비아의 玄孫(현손)이라 베냐민 사람이더라
There was a Benjamite, a man of standing, whose name was Kish son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah of Benjamin. Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power. |

기스가 아들이 있으니 그 이름은 사울이요 ㅎ俊秀(준수)한 少年(소년)이라 이스라엘 子孫(자손) 中(중)에 그보다 더 俊秀(준수)한 者(자)가 없고 ㅏ키는 모든 百姓(백성)보다 어깨 위는 더하더라
He had a son named Saul, an impressive young man without equal among the Israelites--a head taller than any of the others. And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people. |

사울의 아비 기스가 암나귀들을 잃고 그 아들 사울에게 이르되 너는 한 使喚(사환)을 데리고 일어나 가서 암나귀들을 찾으라 하매
Now the donkeys belonging to Saul's father Kish were lost, and Kish said to his son Saul, "Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys." And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses. |

그가 ㅑ에브라임 山地(산지)와 ㅓ살리사 땅으로 두루 다니되 찾지 못하고 사알림 땅으로 두루 다니되 없고 베냐민 사람의 땅으로 두루 다니되 찾지 못하니라
So he passed through the hill country of Ephraim and through the area around Shalisha, but they did not find them. They went on into the district of Shaalim, but the donkeys were not there. Then he passed through the territory of Benjamin, but they did not find them. And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not. |

● 그들이 숩 땅에 이른 때에 사울이 함께 하는 使喚(사환)에게 이르되 돌아가자 ㅕ내 父親(부친)이 암나귀 생각은 姑捨(고사)하고 우리를 爲(위)하여 걱정하실까 두려워하노라

When they reached the district of Zuph, Saul said to the servant who was with him, "Come, let's go back, or my father will stop thinking about the donkeys and start worrying about us." And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us. |

對答(대답)하되 보소서 이 城(성)에 ㅗ하나님의 사람이 있는데 尊重(존중)히 여김을 받는 사람이라 ㅛ그가 말한 것은 반드시 다 應(응)하나니 그리로 가사이다 그가 或(혹) 우리의 갈 길을 가르칠까 하나이다
But the servant replied, "Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is highly respected, and everything he says comes true. Let's go there now. Perhaps he will tell us what way to take." And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go. |

사울이 그 使喚(사환)에게 이르되 우리가 가면 ㅜ그 사람에게 무엇을 드리겠느냐 우리 그릇에 植物(식물)이 다하였으니 하나님의 사람에게 드릴 禮物(예물)이 없도다 무엇이 있느냐
Saul said to his servant, "If we go, what can we give the man? The food in our sacks is gone. We have no gift to take to the man of God. What do we have?" Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we? |

使喚(사환)이 사울에게 다시 對答(대답)하여 가로되 보소서 내 손에 銀(은) 한 세겔의 四分(사분) 一(일)이 있으니 하나님의 사람에게 드려 우리 길을 가르치게 하겠나이다
The servant answered him again. "Look," he said, "I have a quarter of a shekel of silver. I will give it to the man of God so that he will tell us what way to take." And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way. |

옛적 이스라엘에 사람이 ㅠ하나님께 가서 물으려 하면 말하기를 先見者(선견자)에게로 가자 하였으니 只今(지금) 先知者(선지자)라 하는 者(자)를 옛적에는
으先見者(선견자)라 일컬었더라
(Formerly in Israel, if a man went to inquire of God, he would say, "Come, let us go to the seer," because the prophet of today used to be called a seer.) (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.) |

사울이 그 使喚(사환)에게 이르되 네 말이 옳다 가자 하고 그들이 하나님의 사람 있는 城(성)으로 가니라
Good, Saul said to his servant. "Come, let's go." So they set out for the town where the man of God was. Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was. |

● 그들이 城(성)을 向(향)한 비탈길로 올라가다가 이물 길러 나오는 少女(소녀)들을 만나 그들에게 묻되 先見者(선견자)가 여기 있느냐

As they were going up the hill to the town, they met some girls coming out to draw water, and they asked them, "Is the seer here?" And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here? |

그들이 對答(대답)하여 가로되 있나이다 보소서 그가 當身(당신)보다 앞섰으니 빨리 가소서 百姓(백성)이 ㅐ오늘 山堂(산당)에서 ㄱ祭祀(제사)를 드리므로 그가 오늘
城(성)에 들어오셨나이다
He is, they answered. "He's ahead of you. Hurry now; he has just come to our town today, for the people have a sacrifice at the high place. And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place: |

當身(당신)들이 城(성)으로 들어가면 그가 먹으러 山堂(산당)에 올라가기 前(전)에 곧 만나리이다 그가 오기 前(전)에는 百姓(백성)이 먹지 아니하나니 이는 그가 祭物(제물)을 祝辭(축사)한 後(후)에야
請(청)함을 받은 者(자)가 먹음이라 그러므로 只今(지금) 올라 가소서 今時(금시)로 만나리이다 하는지라
As soon as you enter the town, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not begin eating until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; afterward, those who are invited will eat. Go up now; you should find him about this time." As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him. |

그들이 城邑(성읍)으로 올라가서 그리로 들어갈 때에 사무엘이 마침 山堂(산당)으로 올라가려고 마주 나오더라
They went up to the town, and as they were entering it, there was Samuel, coming toward them on his way up to the high place. And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place. |

● 사울의 오기 前(전) 날에 ㄴ여호와께서 ㄷ사무엘에게 알게 하여 가라사대
Now the day before Saul came, the LORD had revealed this to Samuel: Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying, |

來日(내일) 이맘 때에 내가 베냐민 땅에서 한 사람을 네게 보내리니 너는 그에게 ㄹ기름을 부어 내 百姓(백성) 이스라엘의 指導者(지도자)를 삼으라 그가 내 百姓(백성)을 블레셋 사람의
손에서 救援(구원)하리라 내 百姓(백성)의 부르짖음이 내게 上達(상달)하였으므로 ㅁ내가 그들을 돌아 보았노라 하시더니
About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him leader over my people Israel; he will deliver my people from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked upon my people, for their cry has reached me. To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me. |

사무엘이 사울을 볼 때에 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 ㅂ보라 이는 내가 네게 말한 사람이니 이가 내 百姓(백성)을 統轄(통할)하리라 하시니라

When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the LORD said to him, "This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people." And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people. |

사울이 城門(성문) 가운데 사무엘에게 나아가 가로되 先見者(선견자)의 집이 어디인지 請(청)컨대 내게 가르치소서
Saul approached Samuel in the gateway and asked, "Would you please tell me where the seer's house is?" Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer's house is. |

사무엘이 사울에게 對答(대답)하여 가로되 내가 先見者(선견자)니라 너는 내 앞서 山堂(산당)으로 올라가라 너희가 오늘날 나와 함께 먹을 것이요 아침에는 내가 너를 보내되 네 마음에 있는 것을 다 네게
말하리라
I am the seer, Samuel replied. "Go up ahead of me to the high place, for today you are to eat with me, and in the morning I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart. And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart. |

ㅅ사흘 前(전)에 잃은 네 암나귀들을 念慮(염려)하지 말라 찾았느니라 온 1)이스라엘의 思慕(사모)하는 者(자)가 누구냐 너와 네 아비의 온 집이 아니냐

As for the donkeys you lost three days ago, do not worry about them; they have been found. And to whom is all the desire of Israel turned, if not to you and all your father's family?" And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house? |

사울이 對答(대답)하여 가로되 나는 ㅇ이스라엘 支派(지파)의 가장 작은 支派(지파) 베냐민 사람이 아니오며 나의 家族(가족)은 ㅈ베냐민 支派(지파) 모든 家族(가족)
中(중)에 가장 微弱(미약)하지 아니하니이까 當身(당신)이 어찌하여 내게 이같이 말씀하시나이까
Saul answered, "But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?" And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me? |

● 사무엘이 사울과 그 使喚(사환)을 引導(인도)하여 客室(객실)로 들어가서 請(청)한 者(자) 中(중) 首席(수석)에
앉게 하였는데 客(객)은 三十名(삼십명) 假量(가량)이었더라
Then Samuel brought Saul and his servant into the hall and seated them at the head of those who were invited--about thirty in number. And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons. |

사무엘이 料理人(요리인)에게 이르되 내가 네게 주며 네게 두라고 말한 그 部分(부분)을 가져오라
Samuel said to the cook, "Bring the piece of meat I gave you, the one I told you to lay aside." And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee. |

料理人(요리인)이 2)ㅊ넓적다리와 그것에 붙은 것을 가져다가 사울 앞에 놓는지라 사무엘이 가로되 보라 이는 두었던 것이니 네 앞에 놓고 먹으라 내가 百姓(백성)을
請(청)할 때부터 너를 爲(위)하여 이것을 두어서 이때를 기다리게 하였느니라 그 날에 사울이 사무엘과 함께 먹으니라
So the cook took up the leg with what was on it and set it in front of Saul. Samuel said, "Here is what has been kept for you. Eat, because it was set aside for you for this occasion, from the time I said, 'I have invited guests.'" And Saul dined with Samuel that day. And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day. |

● 그들이 山堂(산당)에서 내려 城(성)에 들어가서는 사무엘이 사울과 함께 ㅋ지붕에서 談話(담화)하고
After they came down from the high place to the town, Samuel talked with Saul on the roof of his house. And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house. |

그들이 일찌기 일어날새 동틀 때 즈음이라 사무엘이 지붕에서 사울을 불러 가로되 일어나라 내가 너를 보내리라 하매 사울이 일어나고 그 두 사람 사울과 사무엘이 함께 밖으로 나가서
They rose about daybreak and Samuel called to Saul on the roof, "Get ready, and I will send you on your way." When Saul got ready, he and Samuel went outside together. And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad. |

城邑(성읍) 끝에 이르매 사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 使喚(사환)으로 우리를 앞서게 하라 使喚(사환)이 앞서매 또 가로되 너는 이제 暫間(잠간) 서
있으라 내가 하나님의 말씀을 네게 들리리라
As they were going down to the edge of the town, Samuel said to Saul, "Tell the servant to go on ahead of us"--and the servant did so--"but you stay here awhile, so that I may give you a message from God." And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God. |
