Samuel said to Saul, "I am the one the LORD sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the LORD. Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD. |

萬軍(만군)의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 아말렉이 이스라엘에게 行(행)한 일 곧 애굽에서 나올 때에 ㅠ길에서 對敵(대적)한 일을 내가 追億(추억)하노니
This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. |

只今(지금) 가서 아말렉을 쳐서 그들의 모든 所有(소유)를 남기지 말고 으殄滅(진멸)하되 이男女(남녀)와 小兒(소아)와 젖먹는 아이와 牛羊(우양)과 약대와 나귀를 죽이라 하셨나이다
Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'" Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. |

● 사울이 百姓(백성)을 召集(소집)하고 그들을 들라임에서 計數(계수)하니 步兵(보병)이 二十萬(이십만)이요 유다 사람이 一萬(일만)이라
So Saul summoned the men and mustered them at Telaim--two hundred thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand men from Judah. And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah. |

사울이 아말렉城(성)에 이르러 골짜기에 伏兵(복병)하니라
Saul went to the city of Amalek and set an ambush in the ravine. And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley. |

사울이 ㅐ겐 사람에게 이르되 아말렉 사람 中(중)에서 떠나 내려가라 그들과 함께 너희를 滅(멸)하게 될까 하노라 이스라엘 모든 子孫(자손)이 애굽에서 올라올 때에 ㄱ너희가 그들을 善待(선대)하였느니라 이에 겐 사람이 아말렉 사람 中(중)에서 떠나니라
Then he said to the Kenites, "Go away, leave the Amalekites so that I do not destroy you along with them; for you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt." So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites. And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites. |

ㄴ사울이 ㄷ하윌라에서부터 애굽앞 ㄹ술에 이르기까지 아말렉 사람을 치고
Then Saul attacked the Amalekites all the way from Havilah to Shur, to the east of Egypt. And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. |

아말렉 사람의 王(왕) 아각을 사로잡고 ㅁ칼날로 그 모든 百姓(백성)을 殄滅(진멸)하였으되
He took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and all his people he totally destroyed with the sword. And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. |

ㅂ사울과 百姓(백성)이 아각과 그 羊(양)과 소의 가장 좋은 것 또는 기름진 것과 어린 羊(양)과 모든 좋은 것을 남기고 殄滅(진멸)키를 즐겨 아니하고 價値(가치) 없고 낮은 것은 殄滅(진멸)하니라
But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs--everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly. |

● 여호와의 말씀이 사무엘에게 臨(임)하니라 가라사대
Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel: Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, |

ㅅ내가 사울을 세워 王(왕) 삼은 것을 後悔(후회)하노니 그가 돌이켜서 나를 좇지 아니하며 ㅇ내 命令(명령)을 이루지 아니하였음이니라 하신지라 사무엘이 근심하여 온
밤을 여호와께 부르짖으니라
I am grieved that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions. Samuel was troubled, and he cried out to the LORD all that night. It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. |

사무엘이 사울을 만나려고 아침에 일찌기 일어났더니 或(혹)이 사무엘에게 告(고)하여 가로되 사울이 ㅈ갈멜에 이르러 自己(자기)를 爲(위)하여 1)記念碑(기념비)를
세우고 돌이켜 行(행)하여 길갈로 내려 갔다 하는지라

Early in the morning Samuel got up and went to meet Saul, but he was told, "Saul has gone to Carmel. There he has set up a monument in his own honor and has turned and gone on down to Gilgal." And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal. |

사무엘이 사울에게 이른즉 사울이 그에게 이르되 願(원)컨대 當身(당신)은 ㅊ여호와께 福(복)을 받으소서 내가 여호와의 命令(명령)을 行(행)하였나이다

When Samuel reached him, Saul said, "The LORD bless you! I have carried out the LORD'S instructions." And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. |

사무엘이 가로되 그러면 내 귀에 들어오는 이 羊(양)의 소리와 내게 들리는 소의 소리는 어찜이니이까
But Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?" And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? |

사울이 가로되 그것은 무리가 아말렉 사람에게서 끌어 온 것인데 ㅋ百姓(백성)이 當身(당신)의 하나님 여호와께 祭祀(제사)하려 하여 羊(양)과 소의 가장 좋은 것을 남김이요 그 外(외)의
것은 우리가 殄滅(진멸)하였나이다
Saul answered, "The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the LORD your God, but we totally destroyed the rest." And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. |

사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 가만히 계시옵소서 간 밤에 여호와께서 내게 이르신 것을 王(왕)에게 말하리이다 가로되 말씀하소서
Stop! Samuel said to Saul. "Let me tell you what the LORD said to me last night." "Tell me," Saul replied. Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on. |

● 사무엘이 가로되 ㅌ王(왕)이 스스로 작게 여길 그 때에 이스라엘 支派(지파)의 머리가 되지 아니하셨나이까 여호와께서 王(왕)에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 王(왕)을 삼으시고

Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel. And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel? |

또 王(왕)을 길로 보내시며 이르시기를 가서 罪人(죄인) 아말렉 사람을 殄滅(진멸)하되 다 없어지기까지 치라 하셨거늘
And he sent you on a mission, saying, 'Go and completely destroy those wicked people, the Amalekites; make war on them until you have wiped them out.' And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. |

어찌하여 王(왕)이 여호와의 목소리를 聽從(청종)치 아니하고 ㅍ奪取(탈취)하기에만 急(급)하여 여호와의 惡(악)하게 여기시는 것을 行(행)하였나이까

Why did you not obey the LORD? Why did you pounce on the plunder and do evil in the eyes of the LORD?" Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD? |

사울이 사무엘에게 이르되 ㅎ나는 實(실)로 여호와의 목소리를 聽從(청종)하여 여호와께서 보내신 길로 가서 아말렉 王(왕) 아각을 끌어 왔고 아말렉 사람을
殄滅(진멸)하였으나

But I did obey the LORD, Saul said. "I went on the mission the LORD assigned me. I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought back Agag their king. And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. |

다만
ㅏ百姓(백성)이 그 마땅히 滅(멸)할 것 中(중)에서 가장 좋은 것으로 길갈에서 當身(당신)의 하나님 여호와께 祭祀(제사)하려고 羊(양)과 소를 取(취)하였나이다

The soldiers took sheep and cattle from the plunder, the best of what was devoted to God, in order to sacrifice them to the LORD your God at Gilgal." But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. |

사무엘이 가로되 여호와께서 燔祭(번제)와 다른 祭祀(제사)를 그 목소리 順從(순종)하는 것을 ㅑ좋아하심 같이 좋아하시겠나이까 順從(순종)이
ㅓ祭祀(제사)보다 낫고 듣는 것이 수羊(양)의 기름보다 나으니
But Samuel replied: "Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. |

이는 拒逆(거역)하는 것은 ㅕ邪術(사술)의 罪(죄)와 같고 頑固(완고)한 것은 邪神(사신) ㅗ偶像(우상)에게 절하는 罪(죄)와 같음이라 ㅛ王(왕)이 여호와의 말씀을 버렸으므로 ㅜ여호와께서도 王(왕)을 버려 王(왕)이 되지 못하게 하셨나이다
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king." For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. |

● 사울이 사무엘에게 이르되 ㅠ내가 犯罪(범죄)하였나이다 내가 여호와의 命令(명령)과 當身(당신)의 말씀을 어긴 것은 내가 百姓(백성)을 두려워하여 그 말을 聽從(청종)하였음이니이다

Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned. I violated the LORD'S command and your instructions. I was afraid of the people and so I gave in to them. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. |

請(청)하오니 只今(지금) 내 罪(죄)를 赦(사)하고 으나와 함께 돌아가서 나로 여호와께 敬拜(경배)하게 하소서

Now I beg you, forgive my sin and come back with me, so that I may worship the LORD." Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD. |

사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 나는 王(왕)과 함께 돌아가지 아니하리니 이는 이王(왕)이 여호와의 말씀을 버렸으므로 ㅐ여호와께서 王(왕)을 버려 이스라엘 王(왕)이 되지
못하게 하셨음이니이다 하고
But Samuel said to him, "I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you as king over Israel!" And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. |
27 |
ㄱ사무엘이 가려고 돌이킬 때에 사울이 그의 겉옷자락을 붙잡으매 찢어진지라
As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught hold of the hem of his robe, and it tore. And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. |
28 |
사무엘이 그에게 이르되 ㄴ여호와께서 오늘 이스라엘 나라를 王(왕)에게서 떼어서 王(왕)보다 나은 王(왕)의 이웃에게 주셨나이다
Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors--to one better than you. And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. |
29 |
이스라엘의 至尊者(지존자)는 ㄷ거짓이나 變改(변개)함이 없으시니 그는 사람이 아니시므로 決(결)코 變改(변개)치 않으심이니이다
He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind." And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent. |
30 |
사울이 가로되 내가 犯罪(범죄)하였을찌라도 請(청)하옵나니 ㄹ내 百姓(백성)의 長老(장로)들의 앞과 이스라엘의 앞에서 나를 높이사 ㅁ나와 함께 돌아가서 나로
當身(당신)의 하나님 여호와께 敬拜(경배)하게 하소서
Saul replied, "I have sinned. But please honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel; come back with me, so that I may worship the LORD your God." Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God. |
31 |
이에 사무엘이 돌이켜 사울을 따라가매 사울이 여호와께 敬拜(경배)하니라
So Samuel went back with Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD. So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD. |
32 |
● 사무엘이 가로되 너희는 아말렉 사람의 王(왕) 아각을 내게로 이끌어 오라 하였더니 아각이 즐거이 오며 가로되 眞實(진실)로 死亡(사망)의 괴로움이 지났도다 하니라
Then Samuel said, "Bring me Agag king of the Amalekites." Agag came to him confidently, thinking, "Surely the bitterness of death is past." Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past. |
33 |
사무엘이 가로되 ㅂ네 칼이 女人(여인)들로 無子(무자)케 한 것같이 女人(여인) 中(중) 네 어미가 無子(무자)하리라 하고 그가 ㅅ길갈에서 여호와 앞에서 아각을 찍어 쪼개니라
But Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so will your mother be childless among women." And Samuel put Agag to death before the LORD at Gilgal. And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. |
34 |
● 이에 사무엘은 ㅇ라마로 가고 사울은 ㅈ사울 기브아 本(본)집으로 올라가니라
Then Samuel left for Ramah, but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul. Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul. |

ㅊ사무엘이 죽는 날까지 사울을 다시 가서 보지 아니하였으니 이는 ㅋ그가 사울을 爲(위)하여 슬퍼함이었고 ㅌ여호와께서는 사울로 이스라엘 王(왕)
삼으신 것을 後悔(후회)하셨더라
Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the LORD was grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel. And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel. |
