Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman, And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. |

그 女子(여자)가 孕胎(잉태)하여 아들을 낳아 으그 俊秀(준수)함을 보고 그를 석달을 숨겼더니
and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. |

더 숨길 수 없이 되매 그를 爲(위)하여 이갈 箱子(상자)를 가져다가 르瀝靑(역청)과 나무 津(진)을 칠하고 아이를 거기 담아 ㅐ하숫가 갈대
사이에 두고
But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. |

ㄱ그 누이가 어떻게 되는 것을 알려고 멀리 섰더니
His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him. And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him. |

바로의 딸이 沐浴(목욕)하러 河水(하수)로 내려오고 侍女(시녀)들은 하숫가에 거닐 때에
그가 갈대 사이에 箱子(상자)를 보고 侍女(시녀)를 보내어 가져다가
Then Pharaoh's daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it. And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. |

열고 그 아이를 보니 아이가 우는지라 그가 불쌍히 여겨 가로되 이는 히브리 사람의 아이로다
She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said. And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. |

그 누이가 바로의 딸에게 이르되 내가 가서 히브리 女人(여인) 中(중)에서 乳母(유모)를 불러다가 當身(당신)을 爲(위)하여 이 아이를 젖 먹이게 하리이까
Then his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?" Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? |

바로의 딸이 그에게 이르되 가라 그 少女(소녀)가 가서 아이의 어미를 불러오니
Yes, go, she answered. And the girl went and got the baby's mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother. |

바로의 딸이 그에게 이르되 이 아이를 데려다가 나를 爲(위)하여 젖을 먹이라 내가 그 삯을 주리라 女人(여인)이 아이를 데려다가 젖을 먹이더니
Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him. And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. |

그 아이가 자라매 바로의 딸에게로 데려가니 ㄴ그의 아들이 되니라 그가 그 이름을 1)모세라 하여 가로되 이는 내가 ㄷ그를 물에서 건져내었음이라
하였더라
When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, "I drew him out of the water." And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. |

● ㄹ모세가 長成(장성)한 後(후)에 한 番(번)은 自己(자기) 兄弟(형제)들에게 나가서 그 ㅁ苦役(고역)함을 보더니 어떤 애굽 사람이 어떤 히브리 사람 곧 自己(자기) 兄弟(형제)를 치는 것을 본지라
One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. |

左右(좌우)로 살펴 사람이 없음을 보고 그 ㅂ애굽 사람을 쳐죽여 모래에 감추니라

Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. |

ㅅ이튿날 다시 나가니 두 히브리 사람이 서로 싸우는지라 그 그른 者(자)에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 同胞(동포)를 치느냐 하매

The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, "Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?" And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow? |

그가 가로되 ㅇ누가 너로 우리의 主宰(주재)와 法官(법관)을 삼았느냐 네가 애굽
사람을 죽임같이 나도 죽이려느냐 모세가 두려워하여 가로되 일이 綻露(탄로)되었도다

The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known." And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known. |

바로가 이 일을 듣고 모세를 죽이고자 하여 찾은지라 ㅈ모세가 바로의 낯을 避(피)하여 미디안 땅에 머물며 하루는 ㅊ우물 곁에 앉았더라
When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well. Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well. |

● ㅋ미디안 祭司長(제사장)에게 일곱 딸이 있더니 그들이 ㅌ와서 물을 길어 구유에 채우고 그 아비의 羊(양)무리에게 먹이려 하는데
Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father's flock. Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. |

牧者(목자)들이 와서 그들을 쫓는지라 모세가 일어나 그들을 도와 ㅍ그 羊(양)무리에게 먹이니라

Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock. And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. |

그들이 그 아비 ㅎ르우엘에게 이를 때에 아비가 가로되 너희가 오늘은 어찌하여 이같이 速(속)히 돌아오느냐
When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, "Why have you returned so early today?" And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day? |

그들이 가로되 한 애굽 사람이 우리를 牧者(목자)들의 손에서 건져내고 우리를 爲(위)하여 물을 길어 羊(양)무리에게 먹였나이다
They answered, "An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock." And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock. |

아비가 딸들에게 이르되 그 사람이 어디 있느냐 너희가 어찌하여 그 사람을 버리고 왔느냐 그를 請(청)하여 ㅏ음식으로 待接(대접)하라 하였더라
And where is he? he asked his daughters. "Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat." And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. |

모세가 그와 同居(동거)하기를 기뻐하매 그가 그 딸 ㅑ십보라를 모세에게 주었더니
Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. |

그가 아들을 낳으매 모세가 그 이름을 ㅓ게르솜이라 하여 가로되 내가 ㅕ他國(타국)에서 客(객)이 되었음이라 하였더라
Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, "I have become an alien in a foreign land." And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land. |

● ㅗ여러 해 後(후)에 애굽 王(왕)은 죽었고 이스라엘 子孫(자손)은 ㅛ苦役(고역)으로 因(인)하여 歎息(탄식)하며 부르짖으니 그 苦役(고역)으로 因(인)하여 ㅜ부르짖는 소리가 하나님께 上達(상달)한지라
During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. |

ㅠ하나님이 그 苦痛(고통) 소리를 들으시고 으아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 세운 그 言約(언약)을 이記憶(기억)하사
God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. |

ㅐ이스라엘 子孫(자손)을 ㄱ眷念(권념)하셨더라
So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them. |
