He was with God in the beginning. The same was in the beginning with God. |

ㅁ萬物(만물)이 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으니 지은 것이 하나도 그가 없이는
된 것이 없느니라
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. |

ㅂ그 안에 生命(생명)이 있었으니 이 生命(생명)은 사람들의 ㅅ빛이라
In him was life, and that life was the light of men. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. |

2) 혹 이기지 못하더라
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. |

ㅈ하나님께로서 보내심을 받은 사람이 났으니 이름은 ㅊ요한이라
There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. |

저가 ㅋ證據(증거)하러 왔으니 곧 빛에
對(대)하여 證據(증거)하고 ㅌ모든 사람으로 自己(자기)를 因(인)하여 믿게하려 함이라
He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. |

ㅍ그는 이 빛이 아니요
이 빛에
對(대)하여 證據(증거)하러 온 者(자)라

He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. |

ㅎ참 빛 곧
ㅏ世上(세상)에 와서 各(각) 사람에게 비취는 빛이 있었나니
The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. |
10 |
그가 世上(세상)에 계셨으며 世上(세상)은 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으되 ㅑ世上(세상)이 그를 알지 못하였고
He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. |
11 |
3)ㅓ自己(자기) 땅에 오매 ㅕ自己(자기) 百姓(백성)이 ㅗ迎接(영접)지 아니하였으나
He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. |
12 |
迎接(영접)하는 者(자) 곧 ㅛ그
이름을 믿는 者(자)들에게는 ㅜ하나님의 子女(자녀)가 ㅠ되는 으權勢(권세)를 주셨으니
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: |
13 |
이는 이血統(혈통)으로나 ㅐ肉情(육정)으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하고 오직 ㄱ하나님께로서 난 者(자)들이니라
children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. |

ㄴ말씀이 ㄷ肉身(육신)이 되어 ㄹ우리 가운데 居(거)하시매 ㅁ우리가 그 榮光(영광)을 보니 아버지의 獨生子(독생자)의
榮光(영광)이요 ㅂ恩惠(은혜)와
4)ㅅ眞理(진리)가 充滿(충만)하더라
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. |

ㅇ요한이 그에 對(대)하여 證據(증거)하여 외쳐 가로되 내가 前(전)에 말하기를 ㅈ내 뒤에 오시는 이가 나보다 앞선 것은 나보다 먼저
계심이니라 한 것이 이 사람을 가리킴이라 하니라
John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'" John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. |

우리가 다 ㅊ그의 充滿(충만)한 데서 받으니 ㅋ恩惠(은혜) 위에 恩惠(은혜)러라
From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. |
17 |
ㅌ律法(율법)은 모세로 말미암아 주신 것이요 ㅍ恩惠(은혜)와 眞理(진리)는 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 온 것이라
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. |

ㅎ本來(본래) 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 ㅏ아버지 품 속에 있는 5)獨生(독생)하신 하나님이 ㅑ나타내셨느니라
No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. |

● 유대人(인)들이 예루살렘에서 祭司長(제사장)들과 레위人(인)들을 요한에게 보내어 ㅓ네가 누구냐 물을 때에 요한의 證據(증거)가 이러하니라

Now this was John's testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? |

ㅕ요한이 드러내어 말하고 숨기지 아니하니 드러내어 하는 말이 나는 그리스도가 아니라 한대
He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, "I am not the Christ." And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. |
21 |
또 묻되 그러면 무엇, 네가 ㅗ엘리야냐 가로되 나는 아니라 또 묻되 네가 그 ㅛ先知者(선지자)냐 對答(대답)하되 아니라
They asked him, "Then who are you? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" He answered, "No." And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. |

또 말하되 누구냐 우리를 보낸 이들에게 對答(대답)하게 하라 너는 네게 對(대)하여 무엇이라 하느냐
Finally they said, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?" Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? |

가로되 ㅜ나는 先知者(선지자) 이사야의 말과 같이 主(주)의 길을 곧게 하라고 曠野(광야)에서 외치는 者(자)의 소리로라 하니라
John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.'" He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. |

저희는 바리새人(인)들에게서 보낸 者(자)라
Now some Pharisees who had been sent And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. |
25 |
또 물어 가로되 네가 萬一(만일) 그리스도도 아니요 엘리야도 아니요 그 先知者(선지자)도 아닐찐대 ㅠ어찌하여 洗禮(세례)를 주느냐
questioned him, "Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?" And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet? |

요한이 對答(대답)하되 으나는 물로 洗禮(세례)를 주거니와 너희 가운데 너희가 알지 못하는 한 사람이 섰으니
I baptize with water, John replied, "but among you stands one you do not know. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; |
27 |
곧 이내 뒤에 오시는 그이라 나는 그의 신들메 풀기도 堪當(감당)치 못하겠노라 하더라
He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie." He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. |

이 일은 요한의 洗禮(세례) 주던 곳 요단江(강) 건너便(편) ㅐ베다니에서 된 일이니라
This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. |
29 |
● 이튿날 요한이 예수께서 自己(자기)에게 나아오심을 보고 가로되 보라 ㄱ世上(세상) 罪(죄)를 ㄴ지고 가는 ㄷ하나님의 어린
羊(양)이로다
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. |
30 |
내가 前(전)에 말하기를 ㄹ내 뒤에 오는 사람이 있는데 나보다 앞선 것은 그가 나보다 먼저 계심이라 한 것이 이 사람을 가리킴이라
This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. |
31 |
나도 그를 알지 못하였으나 ㅁ내가 와서 물로 洗禮(세례)를 주는 것은 그를 이스라엘에게 나타내려 함이라 하니라
I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel." And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. |
32 |
요한이 또 ㅂ證據(증거)하여 가로되 내가 보매 ㅅ聖靈(성령)이
비둘기같이 하늘로서 내려와서
ㅇ그의 위에 머물렀더라
Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. |
33 |
나도 그를 알지 못하였으나 ㅈ나를 보내어
ㅊ물로 洗禮(세례)를 주라 하신 그 이가 나에게 말씀하시되 聖靈(성령)이
내려서 누구 위에든지 머무는 것을 보거든 ㅋ그가 곧 聖靈(성령)으로
洗禮(세례)를 주는 이인줄 알라 하셨기에
I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. |

내가 보고 그가 하나님의 아들이심을 證據(증거)하였노라 하니라
I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God." And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. |
35 |
● 또 이튿날 요한이 自己(자기) 弟子(제자) 中(중) 두 사람과 함께 섰다가
The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; |
36 |
예수의 다니심을 보고 말하되 보라 ㅌ하나님의 어린 羊(양)이로다

When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!" And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! |
37 |
두 弟子(제자)가 그의 말을 듣고 예수를 좇거늘
When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. |
38 |
예수께서 돌이켜 그 좇는 것을 보시고 물어 가라사대 ㅍ무엇을 求(구)하느냐 가로되 ㅎ랍비여 어디 계시오니이까 하니 랍비는 飜譯(번역)하면 先生(선생)이라
Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, "What do you want?" They said, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?" Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? |

예수께서 가라사대 와 보라 그러므로 저희가 가서 계신 데를 보고 그날 함께 居(거)하니 때가 第(제) 十時(십시)쯤 되었더라
Come, he replied, "and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him. It was about the tenth hour. He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. |

요한의 말을 듣고 예수를 좇는 두 사람 中(중)에 ㅏ하나는 시몬 베드로의 兄弟(형제) 안드레라
Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. |

그가 먼저 自己(자기)의 兄弟(형제) 시몬을 찾아 말하되 우리가 ㅑ메시야를 만났다 하고 메시야는 飜譯(번역)하면 ㅓ그리스도라
The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. |
42 |
데리고 예수께로 오니 예수께서 보시고 가라사대 네가 ㅕ요한의 아들 시몬이니 將次(장차) ㅗ게바라 하리라 하시니라 게바는 飜譯(번역)하면 ㅛ베드로라
And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which, when translated, is Peter). And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. |

● ㅜ이튿날 예수께서 ㅠ갈릴리로 나가려 하시다가 빌립을 만나 이르시되 나를 좇으라 하시니
The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, "Follow me." The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. |

으빌립은 안드레와 베드로와 한 洞里(동리) 벳새다 사람이라

빌립이 이나다나엘을 찾아 이르되 모세가 ㅐ律法(율법)에 記錄(기록)하였고 여러 先知者(선지자)가 記錄(기록)한 그 이를 우리가 만났으니 ㄱ요셉의 아들
ㄴ나사렛 예수니라
Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote--Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. |

나다나엘이 가로되 ㄷ나사렛에서 무슨 善(선)한 것이 날 수 있느냐 빌립이 가로되 와 보라 하니라

Nazareth! Can anything good come from there? Nathanael asked. "Come and see," said Philip. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. |

예수께서 나다나엘이 自己(자기)에게 오는 것을 보시고 그를 가리켜 가라사대 보라 이는 참 ㄹ이스라엘 사람이라 그 속에 ㅁ奸詐(간사)한 것이 없도다
When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false." Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! |

나다나엘이 가로되 어떻게 ㅂ나를 아시나이까 예수께서 對答(대답)하여 가라사대 빌립이 너를 부르기 前(전)에 네가 無花果(무화과)나무 아래 있을 때에 보았노라

Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel." Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. |

예수께서 對答(대답)하여 가라사대 내가 너를 無花果(무화과)나무 아래서 보았다 하므로 믿느냐 이보다 더 큰 일을 보리라
Jesus said, "You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that." Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. |

또 가라사대 眞實(진실)로 眞實(진실)로 너희에게 이르노니 ㅊ하늘이 열리고
ㅋ하나님의 使者(사자)들이 ㅌ人子(인자) 위에 오르락 내리락 하는 것을 보리라 하시니라
He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man." And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. |
