그 發生(발생)함이 ㅎ꽃과 같아서 ㅏ衰(쇠)하여지고 ㅑ그림자 같이 迅速(신속)하여서 머물지 아니하거늘
He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. |

ㅓ이와 같은 者(자)를 主(주)께서 눈을 들어 살피시나이까 ㅕ나를 主(주)의 앞으로 이끌어서 審問(심문)하시나이까
Do you fix your eye on such a one? Will you bring him before you for judgment? And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee? |

누가 ㅗ깨끗한 것을 더러운 것 가운데서 낼 수 있으리이까 하나도 없나이다
Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No one! Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. |

ㅛ그 날을 定(정)하셨고 그 ㅜ달 數(수)도 主(주)께 있으므로 그 制限(제한)을 定(정)하여 넘어가지 못하게 하셨사온즉
Man's days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed. Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; |

ㅠ그에게서 눈을 돌이켜 그로 쉬게 하사 으품군 같이 그 날을 마치게 하옵소서
So look away from him and let him alone, till he has put in his time like a hired man. Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. |

● 나무는 所望(소망)이 있나니 찍힐찌라도 다시 움이 나서 軟(연)한 가지가 끊이지 아니하며
At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. |

As water disappears from the sea or a riverbed becomes parched and dry, As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: |

사람이 누우면 다시 일어나지 못하고 ㄷ하늘이 없어지기까지 눈을 뜨지
못하며 ㄹ잠을 깨지 못하느니라
so man lies down and does not rise; till the heavens are no more, men will not awake or be roused from their sleep. So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. |

主(주)는 ㅁ나를 陰府(음부)에 ㅂ감추시며 ㅅ主(주)의 震怒(진노)가 쉴 때까지 나를 숨기시고 나를 爲(위)하여 期限(기한)을
定(정)하시고 나를 記憶(기억)하옵소서
If only you would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me! O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! |

사람이 죽으면 어찌 다시 살리이까 나는 나의 ㅇ싸우는 모든 날 동안을 참고 놓이기를 ㅈ기다렸겠나이다
If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come. If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. |

主(주)께서는 ㅊ나를 부르셨겠고 나는 對答(대답)하였겠나이다 主(주)께서는 ㅋ主(주)의 손으로 지으신 것을 아껴 보셨겠나이다
You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. |

그러하온데 이제 主(주)께서 ㅌ나의 걸음을 세시오니 ㅍ나의 罪(죄)를 살피지 아니하시나이까
Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of my sin. For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? |

내 허물을 ㅎ주머니에 封(봉)하시고 내 罪惡(죄악)을 싸매시나이다
My offenses will be sealed up in a bag; you will cover over my sin. My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. |
18 |
● 무너지는 山(산)은 丁寧(정녕) ㅏ흩어지고 ㅑ바위는 그 자리에서 옮겨가고
But as a mountain erodes and crumbles and as a rock is moved from its place, And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. |
19 |
물은 돌을 닳게 하고 넘치는 물은 땅의 티끌을 씻어 버리나이다 이와 같이 主(주)께서는 사람의 所望(소망)을 끊으시나이다
as water wears away stones and torrents wash away the soil, so you destroy man's hope. The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. |

主(주)께서 사람을 永永(영영)히 이기셔서 떠나게 하시며 그의 얼굴 빛을 變(변)하게 하시고 쫓아 보내시오니
You overpower him once for all, and he is gone; you change his countenance and send him away. Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. |

그 아들이 尊貴(존귀)하나 ㅓ그가 알지 못하며 卑賤(비천)하나 그가 깨닫지 못하나이다

If his sons are honored, he does not know it; if they are brought low, he does not see it. His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. |

오직 自己(자기)의 살이 아프고 自己(자기)의 마음이 슬플 뿐이니이다
He feels but the pain of his own body and mourns only for himself." But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. |
