1 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대

The LORD said to Moses,

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 너는 이스라엘 子孫(자손)의 온 會衆(회중)에게 告(고)하여 이르라 너희는 거룩하라 나 여호와 너희 하나님이 거룩함이니라

Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: 'Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.

Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

3 너희 各(각) 사람은 父母(부모)를 敬畏(경외)하고 나의 安息日(안식일)을 지키라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

'Each of you must respect his mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.

Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.

4 너희는 헛것을 爲(위)하지 말며 너희를 爲(위)하여 神像(신상)들을 부어 만들지 말라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

'Do not turn to idols or make gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.

Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

5 ● 너희는 和睦祭(화목제) 犧牲(희생)을 여호와께 드릴 때에 悅納(열납)되도록 드리고

'When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf.

And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will.

6 그 祭物(제물)은 드리는 날과 이튿날에 먹고 第(제) 三日(삼일)까지 남았거든 불사르라

It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day; anything left over until the third day must be burned up.

It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.

7 第(제) 三日(삼일)에 조금이라도 먹으면 可憎(가증)한 것이 되어 悅納(열납)되지 못하고

If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is impure and will not be accepted.

And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.

8 그것을 먹는 者(자)는 여호와의 聖物(성물) 더럽힘을 因(인)하여 罪(죄)를 當(당)하리니 그가 그 百姓(백성) 中(중)에서 끊쳐지리라

Whoever eats it will be held responsible because he has desecrated what is holy to the LORD; that person must be cut off from his people.

Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

9 너희 땅의 穀物(곡물)을 벨 때에 너는 밭 모퉁이까지 다 거두지 말고 너의 떨어진 이삭도 줍지 말며

'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.

10 너의 葡萄園(포도원)의 열매를 다 따지 말며 너의 葡萄園(포도원)에 떨어진 열매도 줍지 말고 가난한 사람과 他國人(타국인)을 爲(위)하여 버려 두라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.

And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

11 너희는 盜賊(도적)질하지 말며 속이지 말며 서로 거짓말하지 말며

'Do not steal. 'Do not lie. "'Do not deceive one another.

Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

12 너희는 내 이름으로 거짓 盟誓(맹세)함으로 네 하나님의 이름을 辱(욕)되게 하지 말라 나는 여호와니라

'Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.

And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

13 ● 너는 네 이웃을 壓制(압제)하지 말며 勒奪(늑탈)하지 말며 품군의 삯을 아침까지 밤새도록 네게 두지 말며

'Do not defraud your neighbor or rob him. 'Do not hold back the wages of a hired man overnight.

Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

14 너는 귀먹은 者(자)를 詛呪(저주)하지 말며 소경 앞에 障碍物(장애물)을 놓지 말고 네 하나님을 敬畏(경외)하라 나는 여호와니라

'Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD.

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

15 ● 너희는 裁判(재판)할 때에 不義(불의)를 行(행)치 말며 가난한 者(자)의 便(편)을 들지 말며 勢力(세력)있는 者(자)라고 斗護(두호)하지 말고 公義(공의)로 사람을 裁判(재판)할찌며

'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16 너는 네 百姓(백성) 中(중)으로 돌아다니며 사람을 論斷(논단)하지 말며 네 이웃을 對敵(대적)하여 죽을 地境(지경)에 이르게 하지 말라 나는 여호와니라

'Do not go about spreading slander among your people. 'Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor's life. I am the LORD.

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.

17 ● 너는 네 兄弟(형제)를 마음으로 미워하지 말며 이웃을 因(인)하여 罪(죄)를 當(당)치 않도록 그를 반드시 責善(책선)하라

'Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

18 怨讐(원수)를 갚지 말며 同胞(동포)를 怨望(원망)하지 말며 이웃 사랑하기를 네 몸과 같이 하라 나는 여호와니라

'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

19 너희는 내 規例(규례)를 지킬찌어다 네 六畜(육축)을 다른 種類(종류)와 交合(교합)시키지 말며 네 밭에 두 種子(종자)를 섞어 뿌리지 말며 두 材料(재료)로 織造(직조)한 옷을 입지 말지며

'Keep my decrees. 'Do not mate different kinds of animals. "'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. "'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.

Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

20 무릇 아직 贖良(속량)도 되지 못하고 解放(해방)도 되지 못하고 定婚(정혼)한 씨종사람이 行淫(행음)하면 두 사람이 刑罰(형벌)은 받으려니와 그들이 죽임을 當(당)치 아니할 것은 그 女人(여인)은 아직 解放(해방)되지 못하였음이라

'If a man sleeps with a woman who is a slave girl promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed.

And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

21 그 男子(남자)는 그 贖愆(속건) 祭物(제물) 곧 贖愆祭(속건제) 수羊(양)을 會幕(회막) 門(문) 여호와께로 끌어올 것이요

The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD.

And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.

22 祭司長(제사장)은 그의 犯(범)한 罪(죄)를 爲(위)하여 그 贖愆祭(속건제)의 수羊(양)으로 여호와 앞에 贖罪(속죄)할 것이요 그리하면 그의 犯(범)한 罪(죄)의 赦(사)함을 받으리라

With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.

And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

23 ● 너희가 그 땅에 들어가 各種(각종) 果木(과목)을 심거든 그 열매는 아직 割禮(할례) 받지 못한 것으로 여기되 곧 三年(삼년) 동안 너희는 그것을 割禮(할례) 받지 못한 것으로 아껴 먹지 말 것이요

'When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden. For three years you are to consider it forbidden; it must not be eaten.

And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.

24 第(제) 四年(사년)에는 그 모든 果實(과실)이 거룩하니 여호와께 드려 讚頌(찬송)할 것이며

In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD.

But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal.

25 第(제) 五年(오년)에는 그 열매를 먹을지니 그리하면 너희에게 그 所産(소산)이 豊盛(풍성)하리라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God.

And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.

26 ● 너희는 무엇이든지 피 채 먹지 말며 卜術(복술)을 하지 말며 術數(술수)를 行(행)치 말며

'Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. 'Do not practice divination or sorcery.

Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

27 머리 가를 둥글게 깎지 말며 鬚髥(수염) 끝을 損傷(손상)치 말며

'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

28 죽은 者(자)를 爲(위)하여 너희는 살을 베지 말며 몸에 무늬를 놓지 말라 나는 여호와니라

'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

29 네 딸을 더럽혀 妓生(기생)이 되게 말라 淫風(음풍)이 全國(전국)에 퍼져 罪惡(죄악)이 가득할까 하노라

'Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.

Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

30 내 安息日(안식일)을 지키고 내 聖所(성소)를 恭敬(공경)하라 나는 여호와니라

'Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

31 너희는 神接(신접)한 者(자)와 박수를 믿지 말며 그들을 追從(추종)하여 스스로 더럽히지 말라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

32 너는 센 머리 앞에 일어서고 老人(노인)의 얼굴을 恭敬(공경)하며 네 하나님을 敬畏(경외)하라 나는 여호와니라

'Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.

33 他國人(타국인)이 너희 땅에 寓居(우거)하여 함께 있거든 너희는 그를 虐待(학대)하지 말고

'When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him.

And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

34 너희와 함께 있는 他國人(타국인)을 너희 中(중)에서 낳은 者(자) 같이 여기며 自己(자기)같이 사랑하라 너희도 애굽 땅에서 客(객)이 되었더니라 나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라

The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

35 너희는 裁判(재판)에든지 度量衡(도량형)에든지 不義(불의)를 行(행)치 말고

'Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity.

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

36 公平(공평)한 저울과 公平(공평)한 錘(추)와 公平(공평)한 에바와 公平(공평)한 힌을 使用(사용)하라 나는 너희를 引導(인도)하여 애굽 땅에서 나오게 한 너희 하나님 여호와니라

Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt.

Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37 너희는 나의 모든 規例(규례)와 나의 모든 法度(법도)를 지켜 行(행)하라 나는 여호와니라

'Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the LORD.'

Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
